9 Months Old

Here we are again...Another month has passed and my little baby is just growing up. I cannot believe that she has already been here longer than I was pregnant! She has mastered crawling, pulling up, yelling for dada, and eating "real" food. We are so blessed. God is good. I could not decide which picture to use because she would not quit laughing during the picture session, so you are getting several. As you can tell, she is a very happy baby!

We had to go back to the doctor yesterday. She has had a rash behind her leg since we got back from the beach. Come to find out, it is excema. Bless her bones! It doesn't seem to bother her but it is definitely looks like it should. She weighed 18 lbs and 9 oz so she is packing on the pounds.

Last Hoorah

Well, it is our last full day at the beach. We have had a FANTASTIC time! We took LeLe back to the beach for one last hoorah! She played again in the gulf for hours. Matt and I took a stoll down the beach and had a cocktail at Schooners. LeLe enjoyed the orange off of my drink so the waitress brought her a cup full. She had the best time chomping down on them.

Schooners was having a huge lobster fest so they had these professionals doing sand castles...too cool. They actually used wood glue on the sand...Anyway, ignore my bandaid in the picture. :)

We ate dinner at Hook's and then came home to begin packing up the building.

More Fun!

On Wednesday and Thursday, we continued our daily breakfast and dinner routine. This time, Matt and I went to J. Michaels on Wednesday night. We weren't impressed with the food but bad food at the beach is better than bad food at home! On Thursday, we were seafooded out so we went to Hooters.

The beach had a wonderful little spot where the sand was coming back in after the surge. Matt calls it a "new" beach but I am not sure exactly what you call it. Anyway, it broke the water so that the waves did not come in full force. Laura Elizabeth LOVED it! She played in the water for hours. We took her bath toys out there and she had the best time playing in the water with her daddy. She is talking up a storm (babbling) but has definitely mastered saying "dadadadada". Especially when she wants something. Of course, he comes running. Pretty smart little girl! We are having the best time!

Beach Fun!

Laura Elizabeth, Matt and I headed to Destin to do some shopping and to eat at Stinky's Fish Camp. We had eaten at Stinky's in May for our anniversary and it was wonderful. We also introduced Stinky's to our friend Preston. Preston lives in Panama City and is such a sweetheart.

Oh! Did I mention...that while we were getting ready to leave, we couldn't find the car keys. Matt had gone to get my sunglasses out of the car earlier in the day...and well, secured our keys into the car. We ended up calling OnStar but since we were parked in the parking deck, they couldn't help us. They sent a man from the Chevy roadside assistance to come bail us out. Man! Did I not give Matt a hard time since he said that he NEVER did anything like that!

Laura Elizabeth still has a runny nose but is feeling better. She absolutely loves the baby pool. She likes taking her crab and whale toy down there and playing with them on the side of the pool. She also likes slapping the brick. She would push Matt's hand away when he would slap it though.

More Swimming

Matt and I continued taking turns while the other one went down to the beach while LeLe napped. Since I cannot get my incision in the sun, I decided to put a bandaid on it. Yes, it looked funny but it was much more fun than staying inside. We took Laura Elizabeth down to the ocean but she wasn't too impressed. The gulf is very high so there is not much of a beach. The beach is becoming more noticeable as the week progresses. There were a lot of jellyfish out today. So, we stayed at the baby pool. LeLe has figured out how to maneuver herself in her float so that she can put her face in the water.

Moving Day!

Matt and I woke up to a 83 degree condo. Yes, the air went out overnight. That solved it...we were moving. So, Matt packed and watched LeLe while I went and pitched a fit at the condo rental place. They ended up moving us to a new condo which was VERY nice! It also was right next to Schooners which serves great frozen drinks. The place was called Treasure Island. I had actually looked at it earlier but decided it wasn't worth the extra money but I learned my lesson!!

Anyway, we got everything moved. The cleaning lady was still working so we decided to go eat breakfast at Corhams. LeLe fell sleep on the way home. Matt went by the pool and I sat out in the sun on the balcony. When she awoke (3 hours later), we headed to the pool. She loved swimming with her daddy and loved walking around the baby pool as well.

After her afternoon nap, we headed to Pier Park to check out all of the new stuff. I was so impressed with the new stores. It reminds me somewhat of the Wharf in Gulf Shores...minus the merry-go-round. Anyway, we ate at the Back Porch. The food was nothing to write home about but the atmosphere was great. We had a drunk man sitting beside us that was rather entertaining.

Always Eventful!

Matt, Laura Elizabeth and I headed down to Panama City around 10:00 on Saturday. We had to stop several times to get gas. We were a little concerned because several gas stations on the way down were completely out of gas. So, every 1/4 of a tank, we would get gas. I believe the highest that we ever paid was $3.99. Most of the gas stations made you come in and pre-pay. Matt actually paid more than we could hold so I had to run back and get a refund (all of this goes with the story)...so, finally around 4:00, we made it to our place. I had done a lot of research on different condos and after talking with the rental folks...decided to rent at WaterCrest. We went to pick up the keys and the lady says, "the guest toilet is broken but the maintenance guy is on his way". I was a little hesitant at first but then thought...we are on vacation, it's LeLe's toilet and she won't be using it...so chill. When we got there, the place was a little dated but was HUGE! It had all hard wood floors and a enormous balcony. Did I mention that it was full of crap?? The whole wing smelled horrible but I just tried to keep my calm since the place was decent.

Matt and I decided to go to the store since the toilet had not been fixed. While we are at the store, we realize that neither one of us have our check card. Luckily, I had another credit card. Anyway, when we got back to the truck, Matt realized that I was the last one that had his card. I called the gas station in Dothan and yes they had the card. Matt joked that I needed some of that Focus Factor since I had lost both cards.

When we got back, still no maintenance guy...so I called. I ran out and got shrimp and crab for dinner and LeLe took a nap. Finally, the maintenance men got there and fixed the toilet. OH! The place had mirrors all in the living area. LeLe would crawl underneath the end table so that she could touch her reflection in the mirror.

Matt and I put LeLe to bed and started watching the Auburn game. While we were on the couch, we heard "crunch...crunch...crunch". We snook into the kitchen and found...a RAT EATING OUR DORITOS! It was kind of funny after the shock went away. We actually video taped the mouse leaping over the stove with a huge dorito in his mouth. The little thing actually ate a hole through the bottom of the doritos...and yes, they were cheese ones.

Matt got on the phone and they said that we could move places in the morning. Matt and I debated on whether or not we wanted to load up the entire condo again and move places. We decided to leave the bag of doritos out for the little creature and went to bed.

Back to the Beach

Matt, Laura Elizabeth and I were planning to go to Gulf Shores tomorrow. However, we got a call from Aunt Laura Jane saying that the condo in Gulf Shores is flooded....so, now we are headed out to Panama City for the week. We have several friends in Panama City that are thrilled to be able to meet our little Hurricane. I am not able to get in the sun (with my new embellishment) so this should be interesting!

First Fever

We have been very fortunate that LeLe is such a healthy little baby. However, starting Sunday morning, she had her first fever. We began treating it with Tylenol and Motrin but that didn't seem to break it. As the day went on, the fever went higher. She definitely acted funny. Matt was a nervous wreck. I found him during the night sneaking out of the bedroom to check her fever.

Monday morning, I decided to take her to see Dr. Huie. She just didn't seem right. He said that she had blisters on her throat and in her mouth but it appeared to be viral. He said that they may develop on her hands and feet along with diarrea. Well, sure enough throughout the week, we have begun seeing all of these symptoms. While at the doctor, they weighed "little bit". She weighed in at 17 lbs and 15 oz. I do think that she has lost some weight throughout this considering she hasn't eaten much.

I believe that she has been downgraded this week from Hurricane to Tropical Storm status. :)

First Day of School

Laura Elizabeth started her Mother's Day Out program today at Hunter Street. Bobo came over to get her ready and take her while I went to work. Well, on my way to work...I couldn't stand it and ended up driving back home to take her as well. I mean..how many times does your little baby go to school for the first day?

We had to take her picture beforehand. I decided to do the same thing that mother always made us do...sit on the front steps with our backpacks. Anyway, LeLe thought it was fun. After the picture, we headed toward Hunter Street. When we got there, she smiled at everyone. She absolutely LOVED it. She didn't even realize that we had left the room. There was another little girl in her class that was born in November. LeLe and she decided to take turns touching each other. She, of course, quickly moved on to all of the "new" toys!

I met mother there at 12:30 to pick her back up. The teacher said that she was very social and mobile and that she never made a sound. Believe it or not, she even fell asleep in the swing watching the kids play. I am just blown away that she sat in a swing!

I am so glad that we have signed her up to go to Mom's Day Out. She was the happiest baby all day long and I believe she thoroughly enjoyed it!

Ready to Ship!

Matt and I put up a new ceiling fan in our bedroom this past weekend. To say the least, the electricians are coming tomorrow to help get it to work. Anyway, Laura Elizabeth LOVES climbing on the box. Bobo had the idea for us to put her in it. So, we did. She probably stayed in there for about 45 minutes climbing in and out of the box. She liked putting her toys in and out of it as well. She is just a little mess.

Happy Labor Day!

Matt and I had a great Labor Day! We did ABSOLUTELY nothing. At 3:00, I took a shower and we headed out to get something to eat. On the way, we stopped by at BoBo and Pappy's house so that Laura Elizabeth could do some swinging. She absolutely loves swinging.

She is growing so fast. Her new trick is to take the lid off of her bottle and pour it over herself. She also enjoys ripping her bib off. Today, I decided to try to trick her and put a bib on that pulls over her neck...that lasted about 2 seconds. Matt and I have our hands full. We talked today that we should not promote walking any time soon! We can barely keep up with her and she is only 8 months old!

I forgot to mention that my appointment on Thursday went very well! The mass is cancer-free! God is good!
