Drinker?

LeLe has had some stomach bug ever since Saturday. In an effort not to ruin every bit of her clothes, we have let her run around the house in just a diaper. In an effort to help her diaper rash, we have done several oatmeal baths. She is the happiest in the bathtub as you can probably tell.

She has been off all dairy products for days and is on a very bland diet. We have really just been drinking Sprite, Gatorade and Water....until she found the empty tea gallon jug....

Regardless, nothing really seems to help. So, to keep us all sane, we pretty much just let her get away with murder in hopes that she will feel well again soon. It is times like these that I am SO VERY THANKFUL for a healthy child. I cannot imagine what my world would be like if she weren't so healthy. Thank you GOD for all of my many blessings.

In Daddy's Shoes...

Today, Pappy cooked dinner for the family and we had some special guest, Corey and Corinne. Corey is my cousin and we LOVE his sweet wife Corinne. They came to join us for a family feast on their way back home from Tuscaloosa.

After everyone left, LeLe was very upset. So, we entertained her with her daddy's shoes....I know...it's weird but LeLe LOVES wearing all of our shoes. Especially the ones that have strings...or ties. She actually has mastered walking throughout the house in these HUGE shoes!!

Ice Cream "Samich"

Matt and I went to the ballgame today in Tuscaloosa. We had a wonderful time cheering on the Tide. Luckily, they won! When we got home, LeLe had her first experience with an ice cream sandwich. It brought back memories of when I was a very small girl and I could only get them at my grandmother's house. After watching her make such a mess, I understand why my mother never let us have them. Regardless, this is ice cream "samich" #1 which was quickly followed by ice cream "samich" #2. She even figured out how to lick the ice cream out between the sides.

Rain Rain...GO AWAY!!

We brought the rain back with us....or rather, it stayed when we got home. So, LeLe sported her rain coat to school on Tuesday morning. Bobo and LeLe had to have "boot training" as LeLe had a hard time walking in her boots. It was HILARIOUS!! I wish that I would have gotten it on film. She would walk about 2 steps and then fall straight backwards.

Lele is such a joy. She is such a happy little girl and keeps us on our toes!

Last Full Day in Paradise

Matt, LeLe and I enjoyed our last full day at Waterscape. I am holding on to the hope that we can come back in the spring. Okay, I know that it won't be the same because we will have "little man" then but I can still hope that our time will be just as enjoyable.

We made our rounds starting at the beach and then ending up at the slide. We let her play until she couldn't play any more.

We met the Skinner family again for dinner. This time, we went to Stinky's Fish Camp, which is one of my favorite restaurants in the area. The food was DELICIOUS!! LeLe and the girls had a wonderful time playing with each other (and the Matts).

Visit from the Skinners

Matt, Laura and the girls happen to be visiting Santa Rosa beach the same time that we were in Okaloosa island. They came over for a brief period (until we got rained out) on Thursday morning. They ended up leaving and fortunately, took the rain with them. When LeLe woke up from her nap, the rain was gone!

We met them in Sand Destin for dinner. One of LeLe's school teachers and a dear friend of ours, was injured while playing outside with her kids. We sent her "well wishes" from the coast.

More Sand...and Wind

Well, Mr. Sun decided not to raise his head today from behind the clouds. We didn't mind though and it sure didn't stop LeLe from doing her daily chore of chasing the sea gulls. We did get a few hours of fun in before the bottom fell out at nap time.

Mr. Sun...sun...mr. golden sun...please shine down on me!

We sang and sang to Mr. Sun and luckily, it worked!!

Matt and I began feeling guilty that we were at the beach but had yet to set foot in the sand. So, we loaded up LeLe and her huge sack full of sand buckets and headed to the beach. She enjoyed building sand castles...or rather, putting water in her sand buckets and filling up her watering can. The waves were really rough but perfect for a little "hurricane". She also found the sea gulls very appealing for chasing.

She is starting to "master" the slide and has met several friends as she never meets a stranger.

Sliding, Sliding, Sliding

On Sunday, it rained, and rained, and rained. We decided to head to the outlets in the rain....BIG MISTAKE. So, we headed home and all took naps.

On Monday, Mr. Sun was out in full force. LeLe played and played in the baby pool and had a wonderful time!

Family Vacation!

Matt, LeLe and I have been very fortunate this summer to visit the beach multiple times. However, on most trips, Matt has been working and therefore, hasn't been able to spend a whole lot of time with us ladies.

Last year, we took a week trip to Panama City for our family vacation. A good friend of mine then told me about this new place on Okaloosa Island called Waterscape. On our last trip to Destin, Matt and I went by and checked it out. It seemed like a wonderful place for us to spend a week.

So, we packed up! We left early Saturday morning (okay, 10:00 is early for me). We got to the resort about 2:30. Just in time to enjoy some afternoon rain and to go to the grocery store.

The weather did not look promising for the week but my philosophy is....A bad day at the beach is better than a good day at home.

It's a BOY!

Matt and I headed to St. Vincent's for our 8:00 ultrasound. Along came nerves and expectations....of a girl. However, the ultrasound clearly revealed a BOY!! We were very shocked and excited. It took me all day on Thursday to finally realize that we had shopping to do!

On Friday, I pulled down all of LeLe's clothes in hopes to find some gender neutral stuff. Well, I did...out of 6 rubbermaids, I found 3 onesies!! So, off to shops. Laura and BoBo had already beaten me to the punch though as little boy Holland is slowly becoming outfitted.

I headed to Tuscaloosa on Friday to try to figure out fabrics for the nursery. We really hadn't planned on painting the nursery (since we were sure that it was a girl). With the change of plans, I came home with a bolt of baby blue linen and huge hopes that we will come up with something spectacular.

I plan on scanning the pictures of Baby Boy Holland...but I am sure that you can improvise.

First Day of School!

LeLe is attending Hunter Street's Mother's Day Out program again this year. Today was her first day back! She definitely made a first impression on several folks.

When we walked in, she got a little overwhelmed by the number of folks in the hallway. However, it only took her a few minutes to warm up. She quickly became adjusted and began speaking to everyone. She told Ms. JoEllen that she was "gorgeous" and proceeded to go to her old classroom where she greeted Ms. Christy and Ms. Linda. Then, she immediately began asking for Mrs. JoJo. JoAnn (JoJo) was Laura's neighbor when she lived in Letson Farms and we have remained friends throughout the years. We were SO THRILLED to find out that JoJo is going to be one of LeLe's teachers this year! Ms. Mary and Ms. JoJo both had Anne Reaves when she attended Hunter Street a couple of years ago.
When Bobo went to pick up LeLe, we found out that they were taking all of the kids on a ride in the Buggy and LeLe shouted to the maintenance man "YOU ARE GORGEOUS". To say the least, it made the little man's day along with making several other folks laugh.

Little Allie and LeLe

LeLe and I went to meet "Baby Allie" for lunch. Allie's mom, Sandy, and I were pregnant together at our good friend Melissa's birthday party. Regardless, we have tried our best to stay in touch either through blogs or through activities. You can see Allie's blog link from here.

Anyway, we met "baby Allie" for lunch. She was a sleep for a lot of the time but woke up long enough to show off her 40+ signs (sign language). LeLe loved her! It was great catching up with the both of them.

First Hair Cut!

I have debated for a while on whether or not to cut LeLe's hair. But, after many morning with a tangled birds nest in the back of her hair, I decided to go ahead and make an appointment. We got an appointment at Sweet N Sassy at 11:30. LeLe was great! She wanted to comb the hair of the horse while they fixed her hair but other than that, it was non-eventful.

Saxon is spending the weekend with Bobo and Pappy. So, Bobo and I decided to take the girls to the zoo after LeLe's hair cut. LeLe and Saxon love each other so very much and play so well together. Saxon and LeLe got really tickled at the duck that was standing right beside the fence. They both loved petting the goats. This is the first time that LeLe has enjoyed the carousel. We had a wonderful time.
