Roll Tide!

We had the Welborn family over to watch the Alabama game. We had actually planned on getting together with them the weekend before but it didn't work out. We were so excited that FINALLY we could work it out and get together. Hall and Adison were precious as always. We even got to meet one of Adison's little friend's, Eva. The children had a great time playing with Laura Elizabeth. She was in love with them and even gave each of them a kiss right before bedtime. We truly enjoyed the evening and of course loved the outcome of the game.

LeLe and I spent a lot of time outside on Friday and she gotten eaten up with mosquitos (on her sweet face).

We missed Sara Kate's birthday party tonight but wish her a BIG HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY!

8 Months Old

Here we are again! I cannot believe that we have already had little Miss LeLe for 8 months! Matt and I are truly blessed. In a measily 8 months, Laura Elizabeth has received several names: Little Bit, Snowflake, Sweet Tater, Smiley II, and now Hurricane Holland! She is into EVERYTHING! She is pulling up on anything that does not move out of her way. She will even pull up on a dog if they will let her. She absolutely loves chewing on toys and can find a tag on anything in 2 seconds flat! She really does not care for baby food. She only likes food that she can put into her mouth herself. Last night, she was eating cheerios and somehow wound up with one in her hair. We were carrying on so much that she just thought it was too funny. She is a very expressive little girl. I don't know what I would do without my little angel. She brings so much joy to us all.

LeLe's Orientation

Mother and I took Laura Elizabeth to meet her teacher at Hunter Street. Despite all of the advice, I could not stand not going. I took a couple of pain pills and loaded up. Luckily, Bobo was there to help me. I am not sure if she or LeLe had more fun playing with the other kids. Laura Elizabeth appeared to be one of the youngest in the class. However, she is definitely not the slowest or the least active. She absolutely loved all of the colors and new toys. She is going to have a great time with the other children. She already had her eyes on a couple of the cute little boys.

Surgery Complete!

I successfully have completed my thyroid surgery. I will spare you guys the pictures of my new embellishment. Believe it or not, the nurses said that I was a good patient. We had to get there at 5:00 a.m.. The surgery started around 6:30 and was complete around 9:00. We made it home before lunch! Thanks everyone for the thoughts, prayers, flowers and delicious food! They removed the left side and middle portion of the thyroid. I have to go back early Thursday morning for the official results.

Growing Growing Growing

Laura Elizabeth is growing like a weed. Tonight, after her bath, I decided to spike her hair. It too is growing. Thank goodness. I get so aggravated her being called a boy. Maybe if she has hair, we can put a bow in there. Just dressing in pink for some reason is not enough. I get so tickled at folks who say "He is so cute" when she is wearing pink bib, pink dress, and pink panties.

She has decided that she prefers real food over that baby stuff. Over the past week she has tried spaghetti noodles, croissant rolls and soft tortillas. Tonight, she ate a ton of green beans and topped it off with a popsicle. Since she is eating "real" food, I decided that she may be getting a little thirsty. I brought out some cups that I bought a couple of months ago and she drank out of them with no problem. I am not sure what I expected considering she can get coke and tea out of my straw!

Pappy is Home

After almost a week in the hospital, dad is back home. After multiple liver, heart and brain tests, UAB cannot find a cause for his passing out spells. So, over the next month or so, he will have to wear a heart monitor. The doctors are wanting to monitor his heart so that they can rule it out for the cause of his passing out. We are so thankful that he is back home. I assume that the doctors are too since we never let them take a breath when they came to consult him.

Matt and I got a Wii over the weekend. Matt stayed up way late playing boxing. I am so sore from my WiiFit and bowling....i know...it's really sad.

Laura Elizabeth has successfully grown 2 more teeth. I cannot believe it. I have been joking that she is going to have a mouth full before she walks. She is pulling up on anything and everything. She even tried to pull up on the dogs tonight. She is such a joy and a pleasure. Matt and I are definitely going to have our hands full as she is as hyper as Matt. Hopefully, he will teach her to clean the house as well as he does and I can just sit back and watch. I hope to get some more pictures of her tomorrow. Her hair is finally growing!

Thank you for all of your prayers. God is good and we are so glad to have Pappy back home with us!

More Prayers Please

Dad is back in the hospital. Evidently, he is having his "spells" again. This time, in the car in the parking lot of Kirkland Clinic. Luckily, some strangers found him and called the ambulance. Please pray that the UAB doctors will find out what is causing them and will help get him fixed. He is definitely going to be in the hospital through Tuesday. They are wanting to do a heart cath to verify that his heart is not having any arrhythmia. Please pray that the procedure goes well and dad will not have a hard recovery and my daddy can get back to normal.

I Blew It!

I haven't told many people until it was official so now I decided to spread the news into cyberspace. It seems that I blew out my thyroid after having LeLe. So, on August 25th, I will be having surgery at UAB Highlands. My OB doctor, Dan Hudson, found a "large" mass in the left side of the thyroid. Dr. Glenn Peters at UAB will be performing the thyroidectomy to remove half of it. During surgery, they will send it off to pathology to verify that it is benign. If it is malignant, they will remove the rest of the thyroid while I am sedated. So, please keep me in your prayers on August 25th.

On a much brighter note, we found a third tooth! Laura Elizabeth now has 3 teeth. The "new" one is on the upper right side of her mouth. Our little doll is growing up so fast! She is into EVERYTHING and cannot sit still. I am not sure if she gets the no sitting thing from me or Matt!

And We are Up!

Baby LeLe decided that she didn't want to just sit in her crib anymore and wait on me to come get her. Instead, she decided to stand up and scream! She was so proud of herself when I got into her room that I had to take a picture. She did it a couple of times on yesterday but hasn't performed today.

Baby Saxon and Anne Reaves started a Mother's Day Out program yesterday. I cannot believe how much they have grown. They are absolutely precious.

Thank you for all of your prayers regarding dad. He has continued to do well since coming home from the hospital.

More Fun!

Laura, the girls, and I went to Fairhope shopping today. We found some great things. I had never been to Fairhope and it turned out to be a real treat. We were able to eat at a panini place that had been on The Food Network. It was phenomenal. After we got home, Laura treated us all to dinner at Louisiana Lagniappe. The food was great as well. The girls played on the playground after dinner. Laura Elizabeth thought that the swing was so much fun. She is becoming so active these days. She is practicing gymnastics in preparations for the Olympics this weekend. I have to show some of her moves. She is definitely crawling and sometimes even crab walking.

Happy Birthday Pappy and Goodbye

Happy Birthday Pappy! Even though we weren't able to spend the day with Pappy, we definitely send him a big Happy Birthday! We are so thankful for everyone's prayers. He seems to be doing very well.

Matt and Matt had to head back home today. They decided to take Saxon to Bobo and Pappy's house. Before they left, we had a great time on the beach. Laura Elizabeth loves her float. Matt played with her in the pool before they left. We also ate lunch at LuLu's. We weren't impressed with the food but loved the atmosphere. After the guys left, Laura, Anne Reaves, LeLe and I headed back to Foley to do some more tax free shopping.

Wharf Time

Matt had to work again today. Laura and Matt were nice enough to let me hang out on the beach for a couple of hours while Laura Elizabeth napped. We didn't get LeLe out on the beach today. She decided to sleep the day away instead. The Skinner Family, LeLe and I went at 3:30 to eat that Original Oyster House. We had tried to go the night before but there was a 2 hour wait. This time, we beat the crowd. Matt got home earlier than we had expected and missed out on the wonderful meal. We decided to head out to the Wharf so Holland could get some dinner. Anne Reaves had a great time making LeLe a bunny at Build A Bear and we had a great time browsing through all of the stores.

Beach Fun!

Matt had to work some today so I decided to try to take Laura Elizabeth to the beach. What a challenge!! I tried putting sunscreen all over her. Her face had gotten a little sun the day before so I attempted to put it on her little bald head and face as well. Let's just say...it was a DISASTER! She decided to rub her eyes and then the next thing I knew, she was screaming bloody murder. She is so fair complected that her little eyes turned beet red.

Matt got home fairly early and was able to play with the girls. We boiled shrimp and ate in for the evening. After we ate dinner, we went to Scoops and had some ice cream for dessert.
