Happy Halloween!

Laura Elizabeth woke up with a runny nose this morning so we decided to hang at the house. Around 5:00, we got her butterfly costume on her. She really didn't like having on that hat but loved all of the neighbors that stopped by while she was crawling in the yard. She didn't last very long in her costume but we were able to sneak in a few good shots.

Lauren came over to help with the festivities. She even brought over LeLe some "fake" clip on earrings. They were a hit to the trick or treaters and rather hilarious looking.

While we were waiting on the trick or treaters, LeLe decided to try to put her baby doll in the big car seat that is still sitting in our floor. While I said a few months back that we would be converting her to a big car seat, we are still stuffing her into the little infant carrier. She loves it so, I hate to rock the boat. I plan on changing tomorrow considering she is really nearing the 30 inch height limit.

Besides putting her baby in the car seat this week, she has also tried to teach her baby to walk, made her baby kiss each page of the book, and also stoll in her stroller. It is amazing how much she does with that baby doll!

Happy Birthday and Happy Holidays!

The Holland family came over to the house on Tuesday night before we went out to eat for my birthday. Since we were almost all together, Jan wanted us to take the Christmas picture. It was rather chaotic trying to get 4 little ones to look in the same direction. Here are just a few of the "better" shots.

Old Baker Farm - Pumpkin Patch

I decided last night that for my birthday, I wanted Mother, Dad, Laura Elizabeth, Matt and me to all go to the pumpkin patch. I had never been to a "real" pumpkin patch before (assuming that the one at the church isn't really real). Anyway, so, we loaded up into the Tahoe (good thing I have an environment killer) and headed to Harpersville. We were going to stop and eat on our way but instead decided to go straight there. It was a good thing that we did!! They were having a cotton picking festival today so there were a TON of folks..and vendors with homemade goods too!

Laura Elizabeth wasn't too sure about everything but really enjoyed watching some of the animals. Dad wasn't able to join us on the hayride to the pumpkin patch so he stayed behind and "people watched".

We all got our pumpkins and then decided to just have a picnic. We got some corn dogs, hot dogs, boiled peanuts, caramel apples, pork rinds, pickles...and I believe that is it!! We were laughing because all of the homemade stuff just made us hungry!

We then drove back home...with full bellies. Laura Elizabeth didn't take a nap all morning so she ended up sleeping almost 4 hours this afternoon. Also, in one of the pictures you will see her new trick! She can stand unassisted! Well, that is when it is convenient for her!

Oh! Laura Elizabeth FINALLY has enough hair to put in a bow! While it isn't exactly in the right place, it does make people not say..."he's so cute!"
I just want to say, how fortunate Matt and I are to have such a precious little angel. I pray for all of the friends and loved ones who aren't as fortunate as us that one day...by some means...you will feel the love and joy that we feel with our baby girl. God has been so good to us and it hasn't gone unnoticed. Thank you Lord for everything!

Happy Fall Everyone!

Roll Tide!

Matt, Laura Elizabeth and I were invited again to dinner at the Welborns. Laura Elizabeth had a wonderful time playing with Adison, Hall and Adison's friend, Eva. Laura Elizabeth thought she was in heaven with all of the attention that Adison and Eva were giving her. I didn't have to worry about a thing. The girls fed LeLe and changed her clothes!

We had a wonderful time at dinner and enjoyed the Tide too!

Good Report for Pappy!

Pappy went today to have his 3 month check-up with the liver doctor. He has to have his liver rechecked (for cancer) every 3 months. He got a good report! Thank you all for continuing to keep him in your thoughts and prayers!

Buddy Walk - Allie's Allies

Matt, Laura Elizabeth and I joined our friend, Allie Lovell, in the Buddy Walk at Regions Park. The walk was supporting Downs Syndrome Awareness. Let's just say, we were SO EXCITED to meet Allie for the first time! She is absolutely a precious little doll. LeLe was so excited to meet her as well! Allie had a huge group walking in support of her. She is such an inspiration to all of us. Thank you Sandy for allowing us to walk on behalf of Allie. We are honored to be included in Allie's special day!

Our Little Pumpkin

Matt and I hung out at the house today. I actually drug out all of my Halloween decorations. I know...it is very late for me! I usually drag them out the beginning of October but this year..I am late. Anyway, I stuffed LeLe in one of Saxon's pumpkin outfits from last year. I am not sure how long she is going to be able to wear it as fast as she is growing so I decided to take some pictures of her with our 3 pumpkins. She absolutely LOVES being outside. This is the one thing that Matt asked for...he got it. Check out her face as she is crawling in the grass. She had a great time playing with her hat as well. It stayed on about 3 seconds! You can really tell how much hair she has when it has static in it. Happy Fall everyone!

We had a surprise visit from our friends Leah and Jeff. It was great being able to see them!

Night with the Ladies

I met several friends yesterday. For lunch, I met Debbie Logan and Elaine Martin. Both of which, I worked with at EBSCO. We had a great lunch at Ragtime Cafe and discussed our family and old times.

For dinner, I met Melissa O'brien and Dixie Canterbury at California Pizza Kitchen. We had a wonderful time catching up with each other. Unfortunately we don't get to see each other as often as we would like. But, it is always fun catching up.

While I was out eating with the ladies, Matt took care of "Hurricane". I had made homemade chicken pot pie on Monday night and it was a hit with Laura Elizabeth. Matt fed it to her while I was gone. Evidently, she enjoyed playing with her hair while having chicken pot pie on her hands. Her daddy took several photos of her entertaining him during dinner. As you can see, her hair is getting really long (okay..maybe not long but it is coming in). She has found it and loves putting food in it! Afterwards, they played in the floor. He is such a wonderful daddy and teaches her so many tricks!

9 Month Checkup

Laura Elizabeth had her 9 month check up today with Dr. Richard Huie at Mayfair Medical. We had thought that she may be had an ear infection but come to find out, she just has found her ears! Dr. Huie said that she was PERFECT! He was very impressed with her hand/eye coordination. He even called it phenomenal. She would not stay still while he was in there. He also mentioned that she was an active little girl. Of course, he didn't have to tell me that!

She didn't have any scheduled vaccinations but since she was healthy, we went ahead and got her flu shot. This is round 1 of 2. We will have to go back in a month for a followup shot. I am sure that she will like that!

I was a little concerned before the visit about her being a runt. However, she is actually very tall for her age. She measured 29 1/4 inches (90th percentile) but only weighed 18 lbs 4 oz (50th percentile). For some reason, she weighed less today than she did a couple weeks ago.

When we were finished with our appointment, we walked out and found Laura with Anne Reaves and Saxon! Anne Reaves helped me "babysit" LeLe while Saxon saw the doctor. They are just absolutely precious children. As soon as LeLe saw Anne Reaves, she had to give her a kiss!

Dr. Huie's office gives out lollipops to good little girls and boys. So, of course, Saxon and Anne Reaves got one. LeLe tried to steal Baby Saxon's so we went and got her one too! She thoroughly enjoyed her sucker and liked wearing it too!

Kiss the Baby

Laura Elizabeth is such a loving little girl. She loves to kiss everything including but not limited to: dogs, dolls, books, mommy, daddy, herself in the mirror, the window (if the dogs are outside), and any object inside a book. She can even kiss on demand. :) Her daddy hasn't decided if this is a good trick or not. We get tickled at her because she gets this stare on her face and then goes in for the kill. Check out how serious she looks!

We found out on Friday that we are going to have a new nephew, Samuel Robert Allen! We are so excited!

Trip to the Lake

Matt and I decided to go visit Buddy and Pops at their new lake house. They are in the middle of renovations so Laura Elizabeth really wasn't able to visit very much. After seeing all of the new renovations, we went to eat at Fat Man's BBQ. LeLe very much enjoyed gnawing on Pop's ribs. It was rather funny. She thoroughly enjoyed the ribs!
