5 Months Old!

I cannot believe that Laura Elizabeth is already 5 months old. She has outgrown a bunch of her clothes but still has some to go. :) She is absolutely the best thing that has ever happened to both Matt and me. We don't know what we would do without our little angel. She is trying to crawl, sit without help, and loves putting objects in her mouth. She especially loves those hands (which she has used from day 1). She reaches for objects, loves watching television and her doggies, and smiles at the drop of a hat. She is such a pleasure and such a great baby. She sleeps 12 hours every night and still takes a couple 2 hour naps daily. Matt and I are so fortunate. God is Good!

We finally heard back from the doctors at UAB. It seems that Pappy's heart is not strong enough for a transplant. However, there are several other treatment options available. They are going to meet with him next week to determine the next steps. It appears that he will be undergoing some outpatient surgery in the next couple of weeks. Please keep him and our family in our prayers.

Headed back to T-Town

Laura Elizabeth and I had so much fun on Sunday that we decided to go back again on Monday. I was off for Memorial Day and we definitely took advantage of it! We are loving the excuse to go visit the Skinners and love the Skinner pool. LeLe and I headed down around 8:30. She loved Saxon's walker and actually could move it around a bit. Anne Reaves loves her baby cousin. Laura Elizabeth really didn't get into the water much today but entertained herself by blowing bubbles. We put Laura Elizabeth down on a mat in Anne Reaves bedroom to finish her nap. When I went to check on her, she had moved about 5 feet and was stuck underneath Anne Reaves chest of drawers. I believe she is going to be crawling before we know it! Lauren also came to visit and had Laura Elizabeth so tickled.

Swimming with the Skinners

Matt, Laura Elizabeth, Bobo, Pappy and I all headed to Tuscaloosa for a day at the pool and a cookout. Laura's friend from Texas, Alysia, also was there and LeLe fell in love with her. We had a fantastic time. LeLe loved swimming the pool. We put her in the baby float and she automatically started kicking her legs. She and Baby Saxon had a great time just looking at each other while in the water. I definitely think that she is going to be a water baby. Madden also loved swimming in the pool. LeLe got tickled at him swimming by her.

Dinner with Bobo and Pappy

Matt and I planted plants in the yard on Friday night and then again on Saturday. Laura Elizabeth and I took a trip to Wal-Mart. She loves Wal-Mart as much as I do. Of course, it takes us 3 hours cause we have to stop and talk to every stranger in the place. Bobo and Pappy then came over for dinner. Laura Elizabeth sat up and drank her bottle for the first time. She actually did really well holding her head back while she drank. She loves her Pappy and will do almost anything for him.

LeLe visits Tuscaloosa

Bobo and Pappy took Laura Elizabeth to visit her cousins in Tuscaloosa. From what I hear, she had a great time and loved playing with Saxon. Laura also let her play in the exersaucer which was a hit. LeLe is definitely a slobber bucket. We don't see any little teeth yet though. She is very talkative and rarely cries.

Working at Watercolors

Matt had to go to Watercolors on business. So, Laura Elizabeth and I tagged along. The weather left something to be desired except for Saturday. Several days throughout the trip, Laura Elizabeth and I walked to SeaSide for some shopping. On Saturday, we went to the beach and to the pool. We let the water get on her and she LOVED it. She talked and talked to the water and laughed out loud several times. I think that we have us a water baby!

We are still praying for Pappy. We have yet to hear anything. Please keep us in your prayers.

Headed to Watercolors

Matt, Laura Elizabeth and I are headed to Watercolors in the morning. While I was packing, I sat Laura Elizabeth in her bed with her big teddy bear that her daddy got for her. She sat there and had a long conversation with the bear and even grabbed both sides of his face.

Dedicating LeLe and Happy Mother's Day

Laura Elizabeth's baby dedication was at Hunter Street on Sunday. We found out that her name means "victorious". Laura Elizabeth did great throughout the service and enjoyed having her hands in her mouth.

We attended the 9:30 worship service and then had Bobo, Pappy, Buddy, Pops, PawPaw, Laura, Matt, Anne Reaves and Baby Saxon over for lunch afterwards. We enjoyed spending this special day with our loved ones.

Praying for Pappy

We found out on Wednesday that Pappy has liver cancer. It seems that the doctors are very optimistic and feel that we caught the tumor fairly early. We hope to find out soon whether or not his heart is strong enough to get on a liver transplant list. Please keep our family in your prayers.

We love you Pappy!

We had a great time at the beach. Laura, Matt, Anne Reaves and Saxon surprised us and made the trip down on Friday night. We were so happy that they were able to join us! We had great food and fellowship throughout the whole weekend. We even were able to visit some with Aunt Tammie and Uncle Allen. Laura Elizabeth loved the beach and especially liked sitting in her bouncy seat by the pool! Matt and I thoroughly enjoyed spending time with the Skinners. Matt, Matt and Anne Reaves went crabbing on Saturday night and had a blast!
