Spring break!!

We decided to stay in town for spring break.  We had actually purchased a heater for our pool but we should have purchased a heater for the sun.  It is just too cold to do anything pool related.  I decided to spend all day Saturday, Sunday, Monday and most of the night last night to do taxes.  We did take a break on Monday to go to the zoo.  It was packed.  Tartan, we headed to costco and hung out around the house.  We are lunch at Jim n nicks and then took my car to get serviced.

Tomorrow our nephew Alex is coming to spend the day with us.

We found out today that lady is going to have 4 puppies.  They should be here next week.

Ready for School...

I don't know that I have ever seen LeLe so ready to go to school.  She was super excited about showing everyone her injury.  I laughed so hard when watching her go into the school.  She definitely had her limp on!

Today was rather uneventful.  I took Gibson to school...picked him up...ran to the grocery...grabbed LeLe from school...to her to Ms. Sheri's....picked her up....came home....grabbed dinner...and here I am now.

Sounds like fun huh!

Orthopedic Visit

We slept in and at 8:30 we got a call saying that we needed to be a Children's at 9:30.  Nothing like a call to get things moving.  I quickly jumped in the shower, got out the clothes for the kids, dried my hair...and we jumped in the car.  LeLe and I made it to Children's by 9:35.  I was so proud of my self.  The quickly got us back.  We were the ONLY ones in the waiting room.  Matt took Gibson to school.

We went back to xray. I don't think it was what LeLe was expecting.  She seemed a little disappointed that they weren't going to give her a copy of her xray.

After x-ray, we saw Dr. Klorey (sp?).  He quickly pulled on both ankles and determined it was  Level 2 ankle sprain.  She is required to wear a boot for the next 6 weeks.  Unfortunately, she is in between boot sizes.  So we can either go with a smaller boot (that is for toddlers up to size 13) or a kid boot (which starts at size 1-4).  Since the kid boot was WAY too tall and long, we went with the toddler boot...where her toes hang over the end.  It absolutely drives me nuts...but there isn't much that I can do about it.

She was super excited about her boot.  We then headed to lunch at Jim N nicks where she had to tell everyone about her ankle.  We headed to target to get some cool socks and some stickers so that she could decorate it (she didn't like the black part) and then to get Gibson.  When he got in the car, he freaked and began crying...he was so worried about his sister.

We were suppose to go to church, but I was exhausted...and the kids were out of control.  We purchased the Frozen movie on the iPad, grabbed dinner at the pizza place, and then came home piled in the bed..and watched the movie...before crashing.

Dermatologist, Doctors...and more Doctors..

Mom was suppose to be at the house at 9:30 so we could take Gibson to school and then take LeLe to the dermatologist appointment.  I had a bunch of questions that I had prepared for the dermatologist.  Unfortunately, I was running on time, and Mom wasn't...so she got here around 9:45.  Since we were running late, there wasn't time to take Gibson to school....so to the dermatologist we ALL went.

Gibson was absolutely out of control.  I am not quite sure of his deal.  We all went back to the room.  Gibson had to use the bathroom so mom took him.  The doctor came in, quickly removed the stitches...Mom and gibson came back to the room (gibson scared the nurses)...and I was so flustered, I didn't ask the first question.

It is psoriasis...and there is a 40% chance it will develop into arthritis...but that is all that I remember.  They changed us to ANOTHER steriod cream and sent us on our way.  We have ANOTHER appointment in a month for a followup visit.  It is rather frustating.

I was DONE....and I ran by the Pants Store to see if that had anything that I needed....and then we stopped at chikfila for lunch.  We came back to the house to eat..mom left and i let the kids play while we waited for 1:00 to come so that we could head to see Dr. McCain.

Dr. McCain got us quickly back (we had 2:15) appointment.  Gibson was at 95% on height and a little above 50% on weight.  He had gained significant weight and grew a couple of inches (i need to get the correct measurements).  He is on target to be 6 footish...

LeLe also around 75-90% on height...and that is all I can remember...by the time we got to LeLe...things were headed south.

Dr. McCain said everyone looked good.  Since Gibson still has the contagious rash, they cannot bathe together or use the same towels.  She is referring us to another dermatologist and is going to be sending us to an ortho doctor to see about her ankle.  She is concerned about it.

Overall, it went well...minus a few yell out sessions.  I am sure that they are always glad to see us come and go!

Never a dull moment!!

Spring Forward.....

You know what that means...Spring forward = grumpy kids.

We are late sleepers at the Holland House.  Spring forward week is not our friend!

We woke up...barely...drug LeLe to school...took G to school and then came back to work.  I didn't get a lot done today.  I grabbed Gibson from school and Matt grabbed lele.  When she got here, we loaded up and headed to gymnastics.

She came up in the beginning of gymnastics complaining of her leg.  This is the leg where she has the psoriasis patch and stitches.  I assumed it was just because she didn't want to do whatever they were doing.  I warned her..."Don't come back up here complaining of your leg."   I noticed on the last few activities that she didn't have a turn. I was getting kind of frustrated that she wasn't going but just wrote it off since it was our last day of gymnastics.

We loaded up and took our friend's Carrie and Emily Kathryn home.  When we go to the house, LeLe limped up the stairs.  I told her "walk right...your leg is fine".  Matt took more time with her and asked what was hurting...she said..."My leg here"...pointing to her ankle.  Evidently, she had turned it at some point when she was running during gymnastics.  Matt yelled for me..."Have you seen this?".  I don't think that is ever a good question...

We headed to grab dinner at On Tap and Matt went into Lowes.  We had to carry LeLe as she was unable to walk.

When we got home, I realized my site was down...so no Monday madness tonight!

Trip to the dermatologist

I took LeLe and Gibson to school.  Sweet little Angela Warren came over and helped me inventory items.  Around 12:30, I headed or the school to check leLe out.  We then headed to get Gibson.  After picking him up, we ran by Sasser optometry so that she could pick up her new glasses.  Eh then grabbed lunch at the Pita Stop before headed to the dermatologist.

Gibson has a rash on his stomach and groin area that seems to really bother him.  The rash really isn't red but does seem to itch.  One look at it and the doctor said that it was mole scum something which is a viral skin infection that is common and can take up to 18 months to heal.  All that I could say...is "awesome".  No more sharing a bath with leLe or any thing like that.

LeLe has had a rash on her leg since before she started kindergarten.   Some patches has appeared on her faces and arms so I decided it was time to get it checked.  The doctor explained that it was eczema on her face but that she thought it looked like psoriasis on her leg.  They wanted to take a biopsy.  She explained to leLe that they would numb her leg and then scrape a little off for the. To check.  They would tie a bow around the area to make it pretty.  She got upset. Ut we calmed her down.  I guess I should have realized when about 6 people walked in that this was not going to be pretty.  I sat at her head.  One lady laid across her chest, another 2 at her feet and the. Be ones doing the procedure.  When they pulled out the shots, all hell broke loose.  LeLe went nuts.  Screaming and carrying on is a understatement.  Gibson had been watching his iPad but quickly decided he didn't  like them hurting her, so he starting hitting one of the nurse yelling...don't hurt my sister.  Then he realized, he may be next and started trying to leave.  I finally asked everyone to stop a minute and for the nurse to take Gibson out.  LeLe still was a basket case.  They iced her down and sewed up the place where they had taken out.  Blood was everywhere.

We left there, Lauren came by with prizes and we event to grab dinner.  Not exactly how I had the day planned.
