Happy Birthday Daddy!!

Today is Matt's 34th birthday! We had planned on going out to dinner but instead Matt wanted to spend time with our children. So, we decided to stay home and make cupcakes!!

Matt had taken LeLe outside for her to play and enjoy this beautiful weather. She lost her footing while playing ball and had a minor catastrophe. Nothing like having a mutilated face for Easter! Matt brought her inside and she was bleeding like a stuffed pig. Fortunately, she is one tough cookie and was okay in a matter of minutes.

After eating Matt's favorite meal, chinese, we proceeded to make some delicious cupcakes. LeLe had picked out "chocate" icing for his cupcakes and what are cupcakes without a TON of sprinkles! She gave her daddy a wonderful presentation of "Happy Birthday to LeLe" and then gave him a big smack on the cheeks. She is definitely a daddy's girl!

Pictures with Easter Bunny

LeLe had an eventful day. We had a hard time getting out of the house this morning but once we were out and about, we couldn't stop having fun. LeLe went to school around 10:30. I took Gibson to Bobo and Pappy's house while I ran to meet some of my work buddies for lunch. I picked LeLe up around 12:30 and we headed to Brookwood Mall to see the Easter bunny. We picked a WONDERFUL time to go as there wasn't a line or any waiting. We walked right up to the Easter bunny. She did the distant wave to him and then decided to walk up and get a sucker out of his basket....all without saying a word. We tried to get her picture made with her sitting in his lap but she wouldn't have any of that. She did rub his arm but that was the extent of it.

Bobo dressed Gibson in his mouse outfit that Aunt Laura gave to him. I had to take a picture of the tail on the back of the outfit because I think it is ADORABLE!

Smiling!!!

Tonight we learned that Gibson can SMILE!! Okay, so he has smiled for a long time but tonight he was really smiling at us! He would coo and then let out a big smile. I was so excited. I have to say...there is nothing sweeter than your baby's first smile...especially when you are talking to them.

Tonight, we made treats for LeLe's Mother's Day Out class. We decided to make the little birds nest (the same as last year) but this time we added grass. She had a fantastic time making these and counting all of the marshmellows. She is really enjoying cooking these days.

Relaxing...

We had purchased a Nap Nanny for baby Gibson a few weeks ago after experiencing some painful nights. It has been a blessing! Here are a few shots of him relaxing in his new bed.

Sophie and MariAlana Jeter came by and visited Baby Gibson. They thought that he was just so little. Of course, as you can tell from the shots of him naked...his new name is "Chunkus".

LeLe enjoyed playing outside today. We colored the sidewalks and swang a lot! We are loving this beautiful weather.

Wanna Trade?

While I wouldn't want to trade my babies...I would like to trade last night for a night of sleep. It went something like this.

12:00 - But Gibson to bed
2:00 - LeLe wakes up crying. This is probably the first time in a long time where she wouldn't put herself back to sleep.
2:30 - Go upstairs and get LeLe to calm down and go back to sleep.
3:15 - Sadie (the dog) wants to go outside.
3:45 - LeLe wakes back up.
4:15 -Go upstairs and give LeLe some medicine and talk to her about going back to sleep. She is wanting to sleep in her big bed.
4:45 - Sadie is barking outside so I get up to let her back in.
5:30 - Gibson decides to wake up for a bottle.
6:15 - Go back to bed.
7:30 - Gibson wakes back up hungry.
8:15 - Decide to just stay awake.....

So, as you can see, we had an eventful night last night. I hope that tonight goes smoother...otherwise, I may come sleep at your house. :)

Anne Reaves and Saxon are in town this weekend. Matt helped daddy all day at his house do some things that needed done. They also cooked several boston butts and ribs. So, Bobo and the girls came over to play. They had a fantastic time drawing on the side walks, reading to each other, playing in the bounce house and holding baby Gibson. Around 2:30, they went back to mother's house.

When everyone woke up from naps around 5:30, I headed over to mother and daddy's. We continued to let the girls play. This time, they swang and sang. It was the sweetest sound having all 3 girls sing: Jesus Loves Me, When we all get together..., Twinkle Twinkle, and then finally Jingle Bells.

Visit with Laura

Today, we didn't wake up until around 10:30. Since Laura is coming into town, I decided not to take LeLe to school. Emily came by to watch the kids while I went bumming around town with Laura. We ended up hitting several different places and even got to eat lunch without any children. We had a fantastic time and really didn't spend that much money....which is unusual for the 2 of us when we get together.

Gibson has successfully slept 6 hours for several nights in a row. I usually put him to sleep around midnight and the wakes up around 6:30 and then again around 8:30. Luckily, he goes quickly back to sleep. I have found that he enjoys being swaddled at night in his swaddling blanket.

We also laid him on the floor this evening and he enjoyed kicking his legs. Since he has some reflux problems, he really hasn't been able to lay flat much. We plan on getting some new toys out for him this weekend.

Potty Time!

I cannot believe that Gibson is already 6 weeks old. He is doing a fantastic time holding up his head and also tries to stand some. He enjoys being held. However, I think that he sometimes gets tired of it and prefers the swing and the bouncy seat.

Bobo came over today for a little while while I went to exchange some baby items. It was nasty weather out but I decided to escape while the getting was good. I ran by Target because LeLe has continued to do well using the potty. So, it was time for princess and Dora panties!! While I don't think that she has any where mastered pottying...I do want to encourage it while she is interested.

Visit with the Williams

I have decided that I am so far behind with my blog posts that I need to start with today and work backwards. So, if you guys are following my posts, please start checking if for previous days/weeks posts as I intend to post them.

Today, we had a special visit from the Williams family. This is my dad's sister, Aunt Laura Jane. She along with Corinne (Corey's wife), Lane (my cousin), Drake (Lane's Son) and Landers (Lane's daughter) came to meet baby Gibson. Pappy even came over to visit while they were here. They were so sweet and brought us lunch along with some special presents.

They couldn't believe how big Gibson is getting. He is definitely filling out (as you can tell from the pictures). Today, he got promoted to size 2 diapers!

LeLe always talks about giving Gibson a bath. Tonight, we let her do it! She was so excited! Of course, we should have taken her clothes off BEFORE she soaked them. Regardless, she had a fantastic time and Gibson did too!

Enjoying the Weather

LeLe went to school today. We didn't wake up until around 9:00. When she awoke, she was in a bad mood. Therefore, we quickly got ready...and she went to school. I had forgotten the stroller for Gibson so I ended up having to carry him in as well. LeLe got upset when I left. I am not quite sure what is going on with her these days.

Gibson and I made a quick trip to Thimbles to pick up a diaper cover pattern. They cannot believe how much he favors LeLe and how he is able to support his head. I came home and worked on some of the outfits for the children to wear this summer. I am really perplexed on what size to make little Gibson. He is in 3-6 month clothing now so I am really debating on whether or not to make 12 months or 9 months. Regardless, I finished some of the pants for the girls and am very pleased.

I went to pick LeLe up around 1:00. Upon arriving, LeLe says "I got in trouble." The teacher then explained that LeLe got put in timeout for the first time today. She wasn't sharing with another little girl and actually stole her toy. When asked to give it back, she told the teacher that the other little girl needed to share. Oh me!

When Matt got home, he took LeLe in a ride around the neighborhood in his Jeep. We then played outside and drew pictures with sidewalk chalk. LeLe had a blast!

Not real sure...

I am not real sure what we did all day long...but, here are some precious pictures.

LeLe has found that she enjoys watching television in our bed. While we limit the amount of television that she watches, we have learned that she knows how to turn on the dvd player and television to make her movie play. So, while we are not watching, we sometimes find her in our bed watching television.

Bobo came over today and let me run some errands. I am so very thankful for all of her help!

You will see that Baby Gibson now sleeps in a contraption called a Nap Nanny. This thing is a LIFE SAVER!! He loves it. It helps with his reflux. We have had it for a couple of weeks but this is the first time I have really taken his picture using it.

Sunless Sunday

We slept late....real late...

Matt has put in a significant amount of time working the past couple of weeks due to the loss of Dr. Evan Zeiger. With all of the work load along with the nocturnal baby, we are in dire need of some sleep. So this morning, we did just that....slept. Fortunately, LeLe is a fantastic sleeper and enjoys sleeping late. This morning, she slept until 11:30...so we did too!!

Lauren called around lunch and wanted to come by. We happily obliged by leaving her with the children. Matt and I went to one of my favorite restaurants, Sol Azteca, for lunch. We then headed to Costco to get some of the essentials and some things that fell in our cart. We proceeded to go to Home Depot, Lowes, and Wal-Mart before coming home around 4.

LeLe enjoys holding her baby brother. Tonight, we found her reading a book to him.

Happy Birthday Jason!

Today was Jason's (Matt's sister's son) 4th birthday party. He and Matt actually share the same birthday on 3/31. Matt and I decided that we would both go to the party and leave Baby Gibson with Bobo and Pappy. We slept in until around 10:30 and then got the children ready. LeLe was so excited to go to another birthday party. She practiced singing the entire way to the party. After the party, Matt worked in the yard. We hung out inside and then played outside after our naps.

FINALLY....Gibson's belly button fell off!! I am not sure why it hung around (literally) for 5 weeks but we are VERY thankful it finally came off. Evidently, it is not uncommon for it to remain attached for up to 45 days. Tonight, he got his first "real" bath. He LOVED it! He kicked his feet around and really enjoyed it. We are still using the special soap to help with his infant rash/dandruff problem.
