Happy Birthday Matt!

Matt turned 33 on his birthday. Man! How does time fly! I can remember just a few years ago when he was about to turn 30 and how sad we both were. Anyway, here is Hurricane trying to wish her daddy Happy Birthday!

As you can tell, LeLe's hair is CRAZY!! We have tried to make that crazy hair lay down without much success. However, we are very happy that she finally is getting hair!! She is cutting about 5 teeth this week. So, as you can imagine, is in a wonderful mood!

Happy Birthday Jason!

Matt, LeLe and I met the Allen family out for dinner for Jason's 3rd birthday. He actually had a birthday party planned but due to the weather, it was canceled. He was too precious at dinner. He still loves baby "WeWe".

LeLe couldn't get over baby Samuel. She kept trying to feed him chips and at one point, pulled her hair bow out and put it on Baby Sam's head.

Happy 3rd Birthday Jason!

Swim Buddies

Laura Elizabeth is still attending swimming lessons daily. She is really starting to enjoy the water. I am very proud of her. The instructor is too! Tonight, a friend of mine, Erika, was there with her little boy, Ryan. Ryan is the most handsome little boy. LeLe thought so too. She kept clapping for him while he was swimming and was very concerned about the "baby" in the water. After the swimming lessons, she proceeded to give Ryan a kiss (okay, maybe I asked her to). He returned the kiss. I believe we have our first official boyfriend at 14 months!

I bought LeLe this huge Princess tent (that is absolutely lovely) and she is IN LOVE with the tent. Bobo put all of her baby furniture inside the tent. LeLe loves crawling in and out of the tent. Luckily, we have room for it in the basement. On Sunday, LeLe walked to the door going down to the basement, looked over at Matt and said "ets go dada". Matt is the only one at our house patient enough to let her play down there for an extended period of time. To say the least, LeLe was thrilled to go play.

Saturday Gathering

We went over to the Welborn's house to have dinner on Saturday night. LeLe loved playing with Hall and Adison. She enjoyed walking back and forth over their door jam too. Man, if I could just entertain myself that way...i would be set! She also enjoyed sitting on their window seal outside. She would bounce on it like it was a ball or something. It was rather funny. It is amazing how still she sits while Adison and Hall are carrying her. We had a wonderful time and the steaks were fantastic! Thanks Brenda and Alan for having us over!

Fun at the Zoo!

Laura called early on Friday morning and wanted to know if I could meet the Skinner family at the zoo. Of course, LeLe and I headed that way when she woke up around 9:30. She absolutely loves the zoo.

The zoo was such a great idea that everyone in Alabama also decided to go to the zoo. Luckily, we have a zoo pass, otherwise, I probably would have passed on this adventure. But, since Anne Reaves was so excited about seeing LeLe and showing her the animals, Aunt Katie had to stay. When we got inside, it wasn't as bad as the parking lot (or should I say entrance) looked. As soon as we got through the 800 people lined up outside, we were off to the carosel and petting zoo! LeLe rode the carosel with Laura and Lauren. I stood back with Matt Skinner and observed these crazy folks that had kids dressed in no clothes in 50 degree weather. LeLe got board of the carosel but luckily, Anne Reaves was there to entertain. Baby Saxon was just glad to be with Lauren. After the carosel, we made our way to the petting part where Anne Reaves and LeLe petted the goats. Saxon didn't care to much about them but definitely knew every kind of noise each animal made. I have to say it was one of the few times that the lion let out a huge ROAR! I guess he had enough folks there to perform.

Afterwards, we made it over to Homewood to eat at Zoe's and then headed home for a nap before our swimming lesson on Friday night. LeLe is getting more comfortable in the water but I would necessarily call her a swimmer just yet.

Happy Friday!

Swimming 101

As some of you know, I was a swimming instructor for years. I have seen a few drownings in my life which I don't really like to remember. As you also know, I have a little Hurricane that has no fear. Her newest thing is walking down the stairs unassisted. So, after much thought, Matt and I enrolled her in a Survival Swimming Class. The class doesn't really teach her to swim per say but it will teach her how to save herself for when she jumps into the pool. The instructor explained to us that she probably won't be able to swim at the end of it but she should be able to float unassisted on her back and possibly roll over to a swim to reach the side of the pool. Matt and I agreed that we would be satisfied with her just being able to float.

So, Matt and I headed with Hurricane to 119 for our new adventure. We were really nervous about how Hurricane was going to act. But, SHE LOVED IT!! The instructor was very impressed with her coordination (at 14 1/2 months) and thinks that she may be able to do more than float by the end of the lessons.

Visit from The Bakers

Johnny, Kandie, and John Christian came to visit us over the weekend. They are some friends that I knew when I was in high school and we have remained close over the years. They are one of those type friends that you can always count on even though we don't talk everyday.

John Christian was a tiny thing when I first met him. He was such a pleasant surprise. I babysat for him when he was little. Anyway, it is amazing to see how fast and big these children grow up.

LeLe loved the entertainment and fellowship that we had with the Bakers. John Christian had a popsicle and well, LeLe wanted one too. This is the first time that she has actually eaten a whole popsicle without throwing it across the room or on the floor. I am not sure if it is because John Christian was eating one or if it is because it was CHOCOLATE! Either way, she sat quitely and very still while she held her own popsicle.

Friday Fun!

I cannot really remember what I did on Friday but LeLe was ready to go somewhere!

Sewing Night Out!

At the last minute on Thursday night, I decided to take another sewing class. While I was gone, LeLe had a wonderful time playing with her baby. Check out this picture of her trying to climb on the couch!

Visit from Anne Reaves and Saxon

Anne Reaves and Saxon came over to play on Sunday. They all had a fantastic time playing with LeLe and I thoroughly enjoyed seeing them. It has been a while since we have been able to spend time with one another.

Saxon loved playing with Sadie and Boomer. She is such a dog lover. While I was in the shower, she played with Sadie and Boomer. Everytime that Sadie got up and moved, Saxon would follow her. They became best buds before I got my hair dry.

Laura, Lauren and I headed to the town to pick out more fabric for me to make some summer/spring outfits. We shall see if I am able to complete all of my projects. Stay tuned!

Hurricane Holland

Tonight, we brought out the camera to just get some fun shots of LeLe playing chase. Enjoy!

Visit from Anne Reaves and Baby Saxon

Bobo and Pappy kept Anne Reaves and Saxon for the weekend. On Monday, Bobo brought Saxon over to play with LeLe while she took Anne Reaves to ride the carousel at the Galleria. Saxon had a wonderful time playing with LeLe but LeLe kept taking away all of the toys from her. Finally, I decided to put LeLe down for a nap and I took a shower. I fixed Saxon a cup of milk and sat her on the bed to watch Dora. She was so very interested in Sadie and Boomer. Sadie was laying on the bed and Saxon would scoot up to her as close as possible. Sadie loved the extra attention.

Laura came by and we began designing the outfits for the summer. Anne Reaves was so excited to see LeLe when Bobo brought her back. Laura, Lauren, Anne Reaves, Saxon and LeLe all ate at Jim N Nicks for lunch before Laura headed back to Tuscaloosa. It was wonderful to be able to spend time with my little nieces and Laura too!

Snow Day!!

<

Matt, LeLe and I woke up Sunday morning to a hug surprise! It SNOWED! I had heard the news that it was suppose to snow but considering it was 60 degrees, I really didn't believe it. But, Sunday morning when we woke up around 10 o'clock....there was abou 2 inches on the ground! The dogs were funny trying to walk in the snow. Matt and I got ready and decided to try to let LeLe walk in the snow. Let's just say that the Hurricane really didn't like the snow. She was fine until she fell down into the cold wet snow and then she started going nuts. So, we brought her inside where she proceeded to eat all of the snow that had fallen off of her clothing.

Did I mention that my computer died this weekend? If you know me, you know that I have to have a computer....so, my sweet husband took us to Best Buy where we forked over the change for a new computer. I had to take the old computer though because I hadn't backed up the month of February's pictures and heaven forbid we lose ANY pictures!!

So, now I am on my new PC...where I am still trying to figure out Windows Vista but hope to get the blog updated in the next day or so.

By the way, I was suppose to go to Atlanta to a conference on Sunday night but due to the weather, we ended up staying in town. Matt cooked chili and I took a nap. What a wonderful snowy March Sunday!
