Mom of the Year

We all slept very soundly tonight. After getting antibiotics in my system, I started feeling better. LeLe and Gibson were so exhausted from the party, they didn't even give me fits about going to bed. Laura is leaving to go to New York for a couple of weeks tomorrow for her new job so I needed to run a few errands for her. After getting back home after lunch, Lauren called and wanted us to come swimming with her.

So, we packed up the kids and headed to Lauren's Aunts house to swim. I had noticed that Gibson was a little sluggish but didn't really think much about it. Both he and LeLe enjoyed the swimming pool and Gibson even drove the little boat float that they had. After swimming for a couple of hours, we decided to go check out the new mexican restaurant, Agave Grill. It was fantastic! They make homemade guacamole at your table! After dinner, we then treated ourself to a place similar to Yogurt Mountain. LeLe had fun placing all kinds of gummy candy in her strawberry ice cream. Doesn't that sound delicious??

When we got home, I went to get Gibson out of his car seat and noticed that he was BURNING UP! Like...102 degrees burning up. So, I got on the phone with the doctors office and ended up taking him to the After Hours Clinic. They checked him out and diagnosed him with a "virus". One of these days, I am just going to ignore these fevers as it always seems to be a virus.

They didn't recommend me giving him Ibprophen due to his age (he is suppose to be 6 months). He did weigh in at 17 pounds though!

When we were leaving, we ran into Matt's sister Kate (she is a nurse there) and all of her children. It is always nice to have a friend/sister-in-law at the doctor's office.

Pappy's Birthday Party

Tonight, we held a birthday party for Pappy in Guntersville. We were overjoyed with the number of folks that attended. Pappy could not have been happier. Happy Birthday to the best Pappy in the world!

The kids didn't get a nap considering we drove to Guntersville and I have the only kid in the universe that doesn't sleep in the car. I noticed that LeLe had a runny nose on the way there and Gibson wasn't acting like himself...but we went anyway. Also, I didn't feel so well myself and then found out that I had mastitus. Luckily, the doctor called me in some meds before we left.

Potty Training

So, I can say that LeLe has gone almost a week now with out pooping in her pants. I didn't realize how nice it was going to be to not have to deal with poop!! Okay, so I am being a little optimistic but what do you expect?

Last night, LeLe came in the kitchen while we were fixing dinner. She was carrying her potty. She really wanted us to see how much she had gone. Then later, she was on the potty again. This time shouting...."There is a little one, and a medium one and a HUGE one!". Let's just say, she is obsessed with some poopy!!

Tonight, we were outside talking to the neighbor. All of the sudden, LeLe takes off her pants and proceeds to act like she is pooping in the driveway. Kim and I couldn't quit laughing. Luckily, we made it inside in plenty of time.

Enough about potty training!!

I called the doctor yesterday because I really think that all of this baby food is aggravating Gibson's stomach. They put him back on Zantac (he was on it until around 2 months old). We cannot tell much difference yet but I assume it will take a few days to get into his system.

Gibson and LeLe are really starting to enjoy each other. Tonight, they were playing Peek-A-Boo and Gibson would squeal laughing.

"Nugget" is growing...

I went shopping in Mountain Brook this morning and then did a Kelly's Kids party in Chelsea. The kids stayed with a babysitter while Matt did some yard work. When I got home, we just stayed inside and tried to stay cool.

I broke down and bought Gibson some bigger pajamas...9 and 12 month pajamas...both of which are almost too short already. He does like watching the feet in them though (as they have character feet). He has very good hand to hand coordination and grabs at everything these days. This evening, I sat back and watched as he grabbed the mobile off of the swing. I believe that the swinging days are almost over as he has mastered sitting... :(

Matt had one of the guys that he works with come over for dinner. His name was Alex. Immediately, LeLe started calling him Alex the Lion (from Madagascar). LeLe fell in love with Alex and showed out for him all night. She even told him "My diaper is ready." after using the bathroom in her diaper. I guess she wanted to impress him. :)

Breakfast in Bed...my bed....

Here is just a snapshot of the kids while I took a shower. Can you tell that they love each other?

Painting 101

We love to paint....everything! LeLe has started painting her fingernails with the water based paint. Tonight, she painted herself some makeup. She was sure to tell me..."I didn't get it on my pretty dress mommy."

First Tooth!!

Gibson has a tooth!! We felt it poke through this afternoon. This would explain why he is slobbering so much. Of course, he is never fussy but is mouthing everything!! His favorite toys are the ones that have been passed down from Anne Reaves, Saxon and LeLe. (Pupsqueak, Lamaze spider and Lamaze butterfly).

As you can tell from the picture, Gibson absolutely adores LeLe. She has finally acknowledged his presence and he couldn't be happier. She is now wanting to feed him a bottle and more frequently asks to "take care of brother". He smiles everytime that she enters the room or he hears her voice. Things are becoming much easier as Gibson perfects sitting and she begins to interact with him.

Tonight, we made heart shaped cookies for Pappy. As you can tell, she had a great time playing in the "powder".

Loving "Broter"

LeLe is finally acknowledging that she has a sibling. She has always noticed Gibson when he was crying or making noise but now she really pays attention to him and tries to interact with him. We often find her giving him toys, blankets, reading him books, but tonight, we found her in his bed while he was sleeping. When I went to prompt her to get out and go to her bed, she insisted that she sleep with "broter".

Gibson absolutely ADORES LeLe. He continues to enjoy his green vegetables and tries to suck his finger constantly. Sometimes, I can convince him to take a pacifier but on the whole, he prefers his finger. He loves being in the car and falls asleep each time that we go for a ride. He is eating breakfast and dinner with baby food. His favorite food is blueberry pear oatmeal and vegetables (sweet potatoes, carrots, green beans, etc). He is such a happy little fella!

Cleaning Cleaning

So, LeLe has an obsession of cleaning. She enjoys picking up all of her toys (most of the time) and often tells me that "this place is a wreck!". Tonight, she was sweeping in her daddy's boot and my high heel shoe.

Last Day...

Today was the last day for LeLe showering with daddy....enough said. :)

While I was checking e-mail, LeLe walked into the office asking for Strawberry milk. When I turned around, this is what I saw. Now, if I could just teach her to pour it!

Dinner with the Welborns

We had the Welborns over for dinner tonight. Well, they brought all of the food but we cooked it.

I had received all of my Kelly's Kids clothes in the mail so Brenda and I spent a lot of time organizing and sorting through them. Adison, Hall and LeLe enjoyed playing on the water slide. Gibson just enjoyed being held by Alan and Brenda. During dinner, LeLe decided that Alan's meal looked better than hers. So, she proceeded just to eat all of the food off of his plate.

Hall and Gibson bonded while LeLe played with Adison. She found Adison's purse and proceeded to put on all of Adison's lipstick and her glasses.

Sprinkler Time!

Tonight, Matt was doing his evening ritual of watering the flowers. LeLe heard the sprinkler and wanted to get on her bathingsuit. We thought that it wasn't such a bad idea. As you can tell from the pictures, she LOVED it!

Gibson is HOT natured! He loves sleeping in just a diaper. Look at this precious fella!

Introducing...The walker

Okay, so little Gibson isn't the walker...but he is now mobile...a little bit anyway. We brought down LeLe's old walker after Gibson showed off his sitting skills. He LOVED the walker!! He is going backwards still but has enjoyed being able to maneuver around. He really liked the tasty bears that are on top of the tray in the walker.

He sat some more tonight. He really cannot sit for more than a minute and looks so suprised while doing so...as you can tell from the BIG eyes!
