Big Day for the Kids

This morning, we woke up bright and early and our dear friend, Mark Wilkins from B3 Photography did some photos of the family. While I would say that I have some patience, not near as much as Mark. I was about to beat LeLe for not sitting still and smiling and before I knew it, Mark had her doing just that.

Matt left about half way through to go run to pick up our sister-in-law's dog from the vet. On the way to pick her up, his car broke down on him for the 2nd time. This time, with smoke coming out the hood and from the tires. To say the least, I think that we are in the market for a new car.

I took the kids to my Aunt Lisa's barn to let them see the horses. LeLe enjoyed it so very much and well Gibson just likes the extra attention. Lisa took LeLe to Bobo and Pappy's house where she spent the night for the first time since I was in the hospital having Gibson. Both Anne Reaves and Saxon spent the night as well. However, I think that LeLe kept them all awake. She woke up numerous times with bad dreams (still of that duck) and then a fire. She then kept them awake by asking if they liked any animal she could think of...
Around 7, I headed to pick up little Gibson. He had been so excited that he didn't even take a nap all day long. He didn't make it to the end of the driveway before he was asleep.
Lisa and Emily couldn't believe how mobile he is...my kids don't lack energy...that's for sure!

Pulling Up and Going Places

Gibson is really getting fast crawling. Actually, I think he can crawl almost as fast as I walk. He has started pulling up on everything including my legs!! This may be one of my favorite ages for little babies as he is such a happy little camper.

He has almost decided that he no longer likes baby food. There are only a few veggies that I can get him to eat. Last night we gave him a pizza crust and he was in heaven! I think he knawed on that crust for about 15 minutes until it was gone.

He get so excited when he sees a bottle. He starts bouncing and breathing real heavy. so cute!!

LeLe had a bad day today at school. She cried for over 15 minutes before settling down. I think that she still has a little bug and just isn't quite herself. She is really becoming such a good little helper. This morning, she actually went downstairs and got me a drink!! Things are looking up!

Catching Up..

Okay, here we go again...my attempt to get the blog back in order....keep checking back as I am updating new pictures (from August)!

Doctor AGAIN

Gibson continues to have belly issues and has been running a low grade fever all weekend. Luckily, we have new friends in the business and they were able to check him out for us. He doesn't have an ear infection so that is good.

We all laid up all weekend in hopes of getting better. Really, I don't think we even left the house all weekend. I called the doctor since Gibson is still having issues and they recommended seeing him. So, we went...he weighed in at 18 lbs 6 oz.

Goldfish!

Today, I was looking in the pantry and came across Goldfish. So, I decided to let Gibson give them a try. He LOVED them! I bet he ate 1 1/2 cups. He ate and ate and ate. As soon as they were all gone from the high chair, he started going nuts! So, I gave him more.

He was playing tonight in LeLe's room while I continued to swap out her wardrobe. I ran out of the room to do something and when I came back, he had made his way over to where I had laid some light bulbs that I had changed. He obviously had broken one and had tiny cuts on his hands. I felt horrible. I quickly took him downstairs and put a bandaid on his little thumb and finger. It was so funny watching him try to figure out what was on his finger. He kept grabbing at them like they were food.

He is such a precious little angel. Tonight he also pulled up on the table. He has pulled up a few times before but not to a table. My little fella is growing too fast!

LeLe came up tonight and said "Mommy, I don't want to die". I said LeLe, I don't want you to die either but when you do you will be able to meet Baby Jesus. LeLe said.."Good Mommy, Jesus is my favorite".

I guess in the whole gist of things, we ARE doing something right!

Saturday Fun

Gibson and LeLe woke me up around 7:30 ready for some action! Gibson is really starting to get on a schedule and wakes up every morning around 7. He then takes a nap around 10:30 for about 1.5 hours and then takes another nap around 3:30 for a couple of hours. Luckily, LeLe still takes an afternoon nap (or at least lays down) for about 1-2 hours. I am doing my best to try to get them on the same schedule and most days, it works!

LeLe is such a good big sister. Gibson adores her! He was crying when I put him in his car seat so she came over to buckle him in. He immediately stopped crying. He is starting to do a good job crawling. While he has been crawling for several weeks now...now he is fast! okay, so he doesn't chase me around the house yet...but he definitely can make his way out of a room!

Today, Matt kicked us out of the house so that we could clean. So, we went shopping! First to JoAnns, Hancocks, Hobby Lobby and then Wal-Mart. The kids were great! Gibson still talks loudly in every store and LeLe has started barking...like a dog...at everyone! I am hopeful that this is a phase that she will quickly grow out of but for now...it is continuing. I finally just started laughing at her in the store since she would bark every time someone would walk by.

We got home to a clean house and to watch the Alabama Game! LeLe and Gibson took a nap until the game was over! Roll Tide!!

Going through Stuff

I have been going through all of the kids clothes trying to get everything ready to sell at Kids Market. They have been good sports but I have learned my lesson about pulling things out that may still be considered fun. Every toy that I had packed up to leave the house, ended up finding its way back in the pile. Even Gibson decided that he didn't want to give up bottles that he never even used.

Visit From Laura

Laura and I got to spend the day together shopping. We had a great time as always. Lauren came to help Matt watch the kids. While I was gone, Gibson said "LaLa". Matt confirmed it. Let's not talk about the fact that he cannot say anything else....like "mama".

He has also mastered saying "Hey"...which is just precious as he tries to wave. My little fella is growing!

Pulling Up....dropping the bed.

I had dreams all last night regarding Gibson falling out of his bed. This morning when I went to get Gibson out of the bed, he had pulled himself up. So, when Matt got back in town, I convinced him to lower the bed.

Gibson could not be happier about his new crib! As you can tell, he can definitely pull up and is so proud of himself!

Luckily, we had learned a few tricks from moving the bed up and down and went ahead and put it on the lowest level.

Dinner with the Welborns

The Welborns came over to enjoy some Alabama Football and to play with the kids. Gibson and LeLe both adore Adison and Hall. Gibson even let Adison feed him sweet potatoes and apples. LeLe wants to do everything that Adison does and it just melts my heart.

Sweet little Hall also let LeLe paint his fingernails (with water paint). I sure hope that Gibson and LeLe turn out as wonderful as Hall and Adison!!

Whirlwind

Today was a whirlwind. The kids have successfully begun to be on an earlier schedule. However, they don't go to bed earlier...so that will be starting tonight!
Gibson woke up around 7:15 and LeLe followed by waking up around 8:15. She crawled into my bed and we watched 101 Dalmations. Then we got to moving. With my OCD self, I had already ordered LeLe and Gibson matching lunchboxes and back packs. Okay...3 sets. When we got home from school the first day, I learned that LeLe couldn't take a lunchbox and instead needed a tote bag. So, today, we were on the hunt for a tote bag...of course, not just any tote bag. It had to match her lunchbox...or atleast one of them.

I had a hair cut appointment around lunch. I didn't have a babysitter so the kids went with me. While we were there, we convinced Beverly to cut LeLe's hair too. She did a great job. I got tickled at LeLe pretending to be such a big girl. She kept asking if it was her turn and eventually got up in the chair. She immediately started talking big girl talk to Beverly asking her "do you like scary owls?". She is such a hoot. After we left from getting a haircut, we went to try to find a bag for her school, then back home. Gibson has succesfully learned to scoot...everywhere. Tonight, he scooted all the way underneath the table!!

First Day of School

We woke up bright and early today to head to Mother's Day out at Hunter Street. The kids did great when we dropped them off and didn't even shed a tear. Gibson was very happy to see other babies and when we left was playing in the exersaucer. LeLe wasn't so sure about her new teacher but eventually warmed up. When we left, she was sitting at the desk coloring. Before the end of the day, I am sure she will have the place in shape.

It was nice to see all of Lele's old teachers. Bobo went with me to take them. She will be taking them and picking them up after today.

Tooth #3

Gibson has another tooth!! My baby is growing up way to fast. He is such a good happy baby. He really enjoys watching his sister and this week has become an expert in eating...okay, so he has eaten "real" bananas, green beans and biter biscuits...but you have to start somewhere!!

Beach Buddies

It was suppose to rain today...so we were prepared. However, the rain never came. Matt headed down to the beach early with LeLe while Gibson and I got lathered up with lotion. We finally made it down to the beach. I gave him a bottle and he instantly fell asleep. I placed him on the blanket and about the time that he got settled, LeLe wanted to head up to the pool. Matt graciously volunteered to take her while I stayed with Gibson. I took a little nap myself on the beach until Matt and LeLe reappeared.

LeLe fed the sea gulls a couple of cheese crackers. Gibson thought that it was really funny (considering they were on his eye level). LeLe thought it was pretty cool too and proceeded to chase them barking like a dog. She acts like a dog barking a lot these days.

Gibson is trying really hard to crawl. He definitely makes it from point A to point B but not very graciously.

For dinner we headed to the Lucky Snapper where we treated ourselves to shrimp po-boys.
