Thursday Thrills

On Thursday, the boys headed out with all of our stuff. Luckily, they brought down some beach chairs for us. Saxon and LeLe enjoyed climbing in and out of the beach chairs. Matt and Matt had a great time trying to fly the kite. Laura and I got a kick out of watching them. Let's just say, it takes two Matts to fly a kite!

LeLe had the best time today playing in the water. She would run up to the waters edge and then take off back running so that it wouldn't get her wet. The water was really cold!

Saxon and Anne Reaves enjoyed playing with their new castle materials. I ended up going up early for the day (since I didn't put on sunscreen the day before, I am fried). As you can see from the picture, I had to wear a sweatshirt to cover my arms and back. I am finally getting some smocking done since I am a hermit crab.

We ended up going to a restaurant at the Wharf for dinner. I believe that the name of the place was Shuckems. After dinner, we headed to build-a-bear to let the girls get a new stuffed animal.

Wacky Wednesday

Laura and I headed back to the beach this morning. LeLe had a fantastic time playing in the sand. I wasn't able to stay out long because I didn't do a good job yesterday putting sunscreen on my back!

Laura and I also headed back to Target where we got tons of goodies for making sand castles along with a bunch of marked down Easter stuff. I got to give all of the girls a bath. Anne Reaves loved her hair style that I gave her while in the tub!

Tonight we went to the Wharf. We decided to eat Mexican...I know...Mexican at the beach. Let's just say, i wouldn't recommend beach mexican food.

The girls had a great time watching everyone in all of the stores. Believe it or not, Laura and I only left with a couple of packages. The boys got to the condo around 10:30. I believe that we were more excited to see them than they were to see us!

Sunny Tuesday

All us girls headed to Foley to continue our shopping extravaganza. After the sun decided to warm up the place, I headed down with Anne Reaves to build sand castles. She informed me that we weren't building sand castles, we were building a church with a bunch of houses beside it so that a lot of people could come. So, we built a church, kid music building, sunday school building and a whole lot of houses with shells as the road. We built so many houses that I forgot to put on sunscreen. About 2 hours later, we headed up to the condo for her to take a nap and let Laura come take her beach shift. While I was in the condo, the church was destroyed.

Anne Reaves and I also flew a kite. This is the first time that I have EVER flown a kite. I was very impressed with myself.

Saxon and LeLe had a great time playing in the sand with each other. I cannot believe how much LeLe wants to do EVERYTHING that Laura's girls are doing.

We met some of Laura's friends for dinner at the HangOut. I ended up locking my keys in the car. Oh me! Thank goodness for On Star! We had a great time hanging out with everyone.

Rainy Monday

Laura and I headed to Wal-mart in the rain to get some items that we needed for the week. I realized last night that I forgot to bring all of my thread for smocking so I am on a mission to find some more. Heaven forbid that I have to go a few days without sewing.

While we were at Wal-Mart, a friend of Laura's called and wanted the girls to go swimming in their indoor pool. So, I dropped Laura and her girls off so that they could swim. I headed to Summerdale to pick up some floss for smocking. I didn't realize that it was going to be such a drive to find some floss. Anyway, by the time that I got to Summerdale and back, it was time to pick up the girls.

Laura and company laid down to take a nap. Since LeLe got a cat nap in the car, she wasn't interested in taking a nap. So, she and I headed to the grocery store so that we wouldn't wake up the napping ladies.

For dinner, Laura and I headed to Chick-fil-a and then we went to the outlets to find some bargains!

Easter Sunday

The Easter Bunny came and visited LeLe. He brought her some Barney movies and a baby doll that goes in the bath tub. He also brought her the traditional Madame Alexander doll. She was in love with "Narney"! She even gave her movie a kiss when she pulled it out of the basket.
Matt, LeLe and I headed to the 9:30 service at Hunter Street. LeLe enjoyed seeing her friends at Sunday School. The church service was wonderful. After church, we headed home, changed clothes and then went to Aunt Lisa's house to enjoy an Easter lunch and an egg hunt. The food was delicious!

Laura and the girls loaded up into the car and we headed back to the house to finish loading all of the house. We then were off to the beach! It is going to be a very interesting trip with 2 women, a 3 year old, a two year old, and a one year old! Wish us luck! The Matts are coming down on Wednesday night but until then, it is all girls!

Easter Egg Hunt

Hollie and Alex invited LeLe to their church Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday. Despite the chilly weather, Matt, LeLe and I headed to Veteran's park.. We met Hollie and Alex there. LeLe had a wonderful time playing with Alex. We wish that the weather would have been a little warmer. She didn't push any kids down to get their eggs as I had feared. She did have a fantastic time finding the eggs. I guess our practice paid off! Thanks Hollie for including us!

Visit with the Easter Bunny...NOT!

LeLe and I drove down to Tuscaloosa to get a group picture with the Easter bunny. Well, that was the plan...until we got to the mall. Anne Reaves was so scared of the Easter Bunny that she couldn't even look at him. Saxon and LeLe were fine with him until we got about 5 feet away from them and they both lost it. I was going to be a mean mommy and make LeLe get her picture made anyway but since they were going to charge $30 for me to take my own picture...I passed.

Instead, we roamed around the mall in search for some bunny ears. Claires had these cute little bunny ears and we had to try them on. Laura found these huge glasses at Gymboree and the girls thought that they were cool as well.

Even though we didn't get any quality time with the Easter bunny, it was fun sharing the day with the Skinner family.

LeLe went to swimming lessons again and her hair dried by itself. Let's just say...she has some crazy hair! We also ended up with one of Anne Reaves' necklaces. LeLe loves showing it to everyone!

Happy Birthday Saxon!

Today, Saxon turned two! I cannot believe how much my little niece has grown. Here are a couple of shots with her favorite Aunt Katie!

After swimming lessons, LeLe found her basket with the Easter eggs in it. She decided to open each "agg" to see if any goldfish reappeared. Luckily, she found some that had been missed over the weekend.

More Cupcake Fun!

LeLe learned how to say "cupcake" and was very quick to point out that she wanted one this morning. I didn't let her eat one for breakfast but since she did so well at swimming lessons, we let her have another one this evening. We were prepared for the mess this time though! As you can see, she enjoyed the second cupcake as much as she did the first one.

Happy Birthday Matt and Jason

The Hollands and Allens came over on Sunday evening to celebrate Jason and Matt's birthday one more time. LeLe had a fantastic time playing with Jason and Sara Kate. She loved holding Baby Sam too. Actually, she liked pointing out all of his body parts and the fact that he was drinking a "botbot".

We had hidden Easter eggs (filled with Gold Fish and Yo-Go's). Each kid had a different strategy. Sara Kate quickly got the hunting part down carrying her basket. Jason laid his basket on the floor and would run grab several eggs and bring them back to his basket. LeLe decided to sit beside Jason's basket and open all of his eggs and steal the treats while he was hunting. All in all, the kids all received several eggs and goodies.

Once the egg hunt was over, we headed upstairs to eat batman cupcakes. LeLe thoroughly enjoyed her cupcake. She couldn't decide whether to pick it up or just plant her face into it. As you can tell, she chose the later.

Right before everyone left, LeLe held Baby Samuel. She loved holding the baby and again was pointing out his eyes!! Baby Samuel was so sweet and cuddly. I forget how it is to have such a little angel around.

Tuscaloosa Air Show

Matt, LeLe and I left early on Saturday to watch the air show in Tuscaloosa. The plan was to meet the Skinners and Bobo/Pappy at the show. However, due to it taking us 2 1/2 hours to get to the airport, they decided not to come. Luckily, Matt received VIP tickets so after walking and seeing all of the planes, we were able to take it easy in the tent with free beverages!!

Around 1:00, I headed over to Laura's to wish Saxon a big happy birthday! Anne Reaves was so excited to see me but was more concerned about Baby "WeWe". LeLe was in the car asleep but Anne Reaves had to go see her anyway. We ended up missing Saxon's celebration but I enjoyed seeing the girls and the rest of the fam of course.

I drove back to the airport, this time it only took 45 minutes (special thanks to my navigation). Matt decided that he was ready to go so we totally missed the Blue Angels. We had planned on staying but the cops were saying it would probably be a 3 hour wait to get out....so, we gave up on the Blue Angels.

Let's just say, I was totally impressed with all of the tricks that they can do in those planes. I don't even think that I could do that much on a video game...much less with a real plane. It was very fun!

Once we got home, I realized that LeLe should have had more sunscreen on...so, please congratulate me for being the mother of the year...as my child is scorched!

15 Month Checkup

Laura Elizabeth had her checkup today. She weighed in at 21 lbs and 15 oz (40th percentile) and was 30 3/4 inches tall (70th percentile). Doctor Huie again commented on being an active child. He asked me to get her to say a few words so she said "Back Pack", "Amen", "hi", "no way" and "jacket". He said that she was in great health (which we are so fortunate) and that she didn't have to come back until her 18 month check up!

One of those...

I have become one of those people that don't update their blog as often as I should. I try to do it every Saturday but this weekend...I failed. So, I am attempting to post a bunch of posts in an effort to bring you guys all up to speed on little Hurricane.

So, on to Hurricane....

Her new word of the week..."No Way". So, just for example....can mommy have a kiss? Response: "No Way MaMa". Does LeLe want a banana? "No Way". Does LeLe have on dirty pants? "No Way". Okay, you get the point.

LeLe is officially obsessed with her belly button...not just hers either. She like to find the BB on all of her dolls, her daddy and me. She even pulls up your shirt to find it.

On Monday, we woke up and had a wonderful morning. I was taking a shower and LeLe was playing with the shower door as normal. The next thing I knew, I had a little person in the shower with me (fully clothed with shoes) squeeling. She thought that it was too cool to be in the shower. She even marched in the puddles at the bottom of the shower. Finally, I started laughing too. Such joy!
She is also enjoying making all kind of faces. This morning, she finally wore a dress that I made for Saxon (that she wasn't able to wear). I am glad that Hurricane can fit in it! It is size 6 months but obviously it is big.
