Doctor Visit

Well, LeLe woke me up in the middle of the night. When I got up there, she was burning up! I went to get the thermometer and she had a 101.6 fever. Which...for her is very high. We have been so fortunate that this has only been her 2nd or 3rd fever ever!

We have a 9:15 doctor's appointment for Baby Gibson's 2 month check-up. I talked Matt into going with me since Gibson will be having shots and LeLe is feeling so yucky. When we got there, they agreed to see both of them. I was so happy.

LeLe weighed 29.8 pounds and was very perky in front of everyone. However, if you know LeLe, you know she doesn't sit very still anywhere and I actually got a couple shots of her sitting down! Dr. Huie took a strep test (that came back negative) and said that her throat was very red but it must just be a virus. Oh, did I mention, no fever of course when we got there. I guess there is something to be said for drugging your child with Motrin and Tylenol.

Gibson was so happy to be at the doctor this morning. Again, we took bets on how much our big man weighed. Matt guessed 14 lbs; Pappy 14 lbs; Me 13 lbs 8 oz; He weighed in at a whopping 13 lbs 13 oz and was 24 inches long. Both of which are in the 90th percentile for a 2 month old. Dr. Huie said our little fellow was perfect and proceeded to give him his vaccinations. He was impressed that our little fellow is sleeping so well. I am sure that I have jinxed us now though.

After leaving the doctor, I met my friend Kristi for her birthday. It was great catching up with the folks at work. LeLe took her a Little Debbie cupcake and was so excited to sing to her even though she didn't feel well.

When we left, we stopped by Target to get some Infant Tylenol and the medicine that Doctor Huie recommended for LeLe. We didn't even get in the door before LeLe and Gibson started crying. Okay folks, I am not just talking a little whimper. I am talking a HUGE cry. I quickly walked to the medicine section where I opened the drugs and gave them to both children. I then quickly ran to the baby section to get him a pacifier. The whole time, they are screaming. So much so, that one lady offered to hold Gibson's bottle while I comforted LeLe. Folks were coming out of the aisles to see what the commotion was....if you know me, you know that I was MORTIFIED! We quickly ran out of the store but not without help. One of the Target workers even assisted me through checkout. Let's just say...God did good giving me healthy children because I can barely handle this one day of LeLe being sick! After all of that, we all came home and took naps.
