Homeward Bound

As you can see from LeLe's picture, she is exhausted! I had to go wake her up this morning so that we could head back to Birmingham. She slept until the last minute around 9:30. She had covered herself pretty well during the night. She was a little insecure about sleeping in the big bed at the beach so we squeezed her into the pack n play for the week.

We left about 10:15 to head back to Birmingham. We only had to stop once for lunch before we made it home. I am not sure how many times that I got in the back seat to feed Gibson or get something for LeLe but I am sure it was over a dozen times. Let's just say, I probably should have gone with the bench seat in the Enclave instead of bucket seats (the hump between the seats isn't that comfortable).

When we got home, we began the chore of unpacking. Aunt Hollie and Cousin Alex aren't going to be able to come to Gibson's Baby Dedication tomorrow so they stopped by to visit. LeLe had a wonderful time playing with Alex.

After they left, we put Gibson in the bumbo seat. Doesn't he look good in pink? His head control is outstanding and he had no problem holding it up high and center.

Pirate Cruise

We decided to take the Pirate cruise today. The cruise left at 1:00 so we had to come in from the pool rather early. Well, Matt and LeLe had to come up from the pool. I decided not to take little man down and instead start doing some packing. They came up around 11:00 to take showers and get ready for the cruise. LeLe was excited to ride in the boat.

We fed the girls and then headed out to the ship. Luckily, they had a covered area that we could stay in with Gibson. They had a ton of festivities for the girls to do including: water gun fight, limbo, searching for the treasure chest and more. The girls had a great time. Matt had to give LeLe a crash course on how to shoot a water gun. That was rather interesting. She had more fun holding the gun upside down and letting the water drain on her leg than she did shooting people.

There was a family on the boat from North Alabama and their youngest child was 4 months old. Gibson had about 5 pounds on the little girl. I am not sure if she gets fed considering she was the youngest of 10!! I am being sarcastic but I have no idea how you could keep track of 10 children. I can barely keep up with LeLe! Pray for her...

After the cruise, we grabbed some ice cream and then headed back to the condo. We outvoted a nap so LeLe got to go swimming one last time while I packed. We then went to dinner where we had one last dose of shrimp. So far, no oil on the beach.

Swim Day!

Bobo and Pappy headed back to Birmingham today. We tried to talk them into staying but I believe that they had enough of the commotion. We all went out to the beach today...even Gibson. He sat in his bouncer seat while we played in the sand and sat by the pool.

LeLe had a fantastic time playing in the pool today. She ran circles around all of the kids in the baby pool. She wasn't very excited about swimming by herself though. Matt swam with her in the big pool and I sat back and watched. The pool was a little chilly for me! Saxon and Anne Reaves had a good time swimming with her too.

Gibson did fantastic chilling in his bouncer seat and even took a nap on the pool deck in the shade. Laura and I made sandwiches and brought left over pizza to the pool for lunch.

Matt Skinner treated us all to dinner at the Captains Table. I enjoyed some wonderful grouper and Matt had a shrimp po-boy. We had to get their famous Tuna Dip for a snack and Turtle cheesecake for dessert. After dinner, we went and rode go-carts. The girls thought that they were so much fun. We should not have tried the wooden track though...it scared them.

Sunshine...blue skies!

We woke up fairly early. Pappy had cooked breakfast for us so we enjoyed a scrumptous meal. After stuffing our faces, Matt took all of the beach stuff down and we lathered up with sunscreen. Pappy decided to watch Gibson while I headed down to the beach for a little while. It was so nice at the beach. I enjoyed reading a few pages of my book while LeLe played in the sand and Matt ran to and from the water. LeLe was very demanding of the water that she needed for her sandcastle.

After lunch, we all headed up and I took a nap while Matt and Bobo continued to sit on the beach.

We all went out to dinner at Hunts. We met an old friend, Preston and his girlfriend for dinner. We stuffed our faces with shrimp, oysters, fried cheese, grouper and french fries. After all of that, we decided to go to Pier Park and let the girls ride a few things. LeLe had already jumped on the bungee trampoline the day before but since she had so much fun, she wanted to go again. This time, to show Pappy how she "JUMPS HIGH IN THE SKY!". After jumping, the girls rode on the mechanical airplanes. LeLe couldn't figure out how to make hers go up in the air but she was satisfied with just going in circles.

We had a fantastic family day.

Mr. SUN...

The sun came out today so LeLe decided that she needed to wear some deoterant. Not real sure why but she sure did have a good time trying to put it on. Matt took LeLe out to the pool with the rest of the family. I stayed upstairs with Gibson and we both took naps. Matt then brought LeLe up and I sat outside and read my book on the balcony while she slept.

When they got up, we ordered pizza from the Pasta Grill. It was delicious!

yucky...weather...yummy...food

We woke up this morning with some major overcast and some strong winds. So, we decided that we would go out to eat and grab some lunch. What better thing to do at the beach than eat?? We headed out and well, our wish came true. All of the bikers were on the road heading home. So, it took us about 45 minutes to get to the restaurant. We all had a wonderful meal at Schooners and the girls had fun playing on the beach while waiting on the food. Most of us had grouper sandwiches with a few fried shrimp mixed in. Gibson sat in his seat the entire time and didn't make a sound.

After we got done with lunch, we went back to the condo, took naps and then headed out to the beach to play in the sand. The girls had a great time playing, running, chasing birds, and building sand castles.

Beach Bound

Today, we headed out around lunch to go to Panama City. There is a resort there that has several kids slides and pools. So, we are on the road again. This time, Bobo and Pappy joined us. This is the first beach trip that Bobo and Pappy have gone with us since we have had the children. They were so excited and so were we. We got 2 separate condos. The Skinners and Bobo/Pappy stayed in one and then our little family stayed in the other. It was probably a good decision considering that Gibson really didn't sleep well while we were there.

When we got to the beach, little Gibson and big Gibson took a nap on the couch. I am not sure which one was more comfortable.

After naps, Laura and I headed to the grocery store to get some things for the week. It is hard planning for 6 adults and 3 children (okay 4 really but G doesn't count). We ended up having hot dogs for dinner since all of the shrimp places were closed by the time we got done.

Little did we know that there is a bike convention down here. We hope that all of the loud bikers GO HOME!!

Much Needed Haircut

LeLe went to school today and afterwards, we went to get her a much needed haircut. She has some crazy hair. She has been twirling her hair since Gibson has come home. Evidently, it is similar to sucking a thumb and is thought to be a soothing technique. She normally only twirls it when she is tired but unfortunately, angel hair is tangles easily. So, we have had to cut out several tangles in her hair..which has left us with some crazy hair.

So, today, we got it shaped up. She had a wonderful time watching the lady cut her hair and the whole time kept saying "are we done?". She sat very still during the whole process. Once it was done, I realized that I had left my wallet in the diaper bag...which was at mother and dad's house. They did let me charge it over the phone though.

We went to show Bobo and Pappy our new haircut and then came home to finish packing and getting ready for the beach. It is amazing how much stuff is required for 2 little ones.

Sweet Little Fella

My sweet little fella is so glad to be home. We put him in his swing as soon as we got home and he fell fast asleep. Today, we let him try out the bouncer seat. While he hasn't shown much interest in it prior to our trip, today, he fell in love. He has figured out how to hit all of the stuff so that the music plays and the frog moves. He is one smart little cookie. He looked like he was running a marathon too with how fast he was kicking his legs. He still has some cradle cap...but, we have continued with all of our therapy. :)

I went and got my hair done today. Lauren and Matt watched the kids while I was gone. Gibson has become one spoiled little boy. LeLe is exhausted from the trip so we are trying to get her back on her regular schedule.

I am busy washing clothes and getting ready for us to leave again on Saturday for the beach.
