Happy Birthday Alex!!

Matt,LeLe and I had a VERY eventful morning....

LeLe woke up early (around 9:30). In an effort to let daddy get a few more Z's we decided to go play in the basement. LeLe loves playing downstairs with the tent and the 100s of baby dolls but this morning, she was more worried about her daddy waking up. So, around 9:50 we headed upstairs to wake up Daddy. She walks in the room screaming to the top of her lungs, "Daddy, Boober, Sadie et's play). The dogs, of course, greeting with a wagging tail. Daddy, however, with a hand that goes to the side of the bed and is quickly grabbed by a 18 month old admirer. So, we are up folks....up for the day.

Around 10ish, I got in the shower. LeLe has taken a few baths in our big tub in our bathroom but this morning was VERY interested in getting into the empty tub. So, of course, sweet daddy puts her in there fully clothed. The next thing we know, she turns on the water full force....so, off with the clothes, the diaper, and onto a happy 18 month old who is yelling with her outside voice.."AWESOME!". I finished my shower and then got her out of the tub. When we passed the kitchen, she starts asking for raisins. So, we swing by the kitchen and grab raisins. I am still not dressed at this point....and we quickly head to her room to put on a diaper. In the sweep of getting her onto the changing table, she spills a couple of raisins. So, I put her on the ground, walked into the closet and quickly ask her to pick up her raisins. While in the closet, I notice that she has something hanging out of her mouth.....and it had LEGS MOVING!! So, I yell "SPIT THAT OUT". Little did I know that it is a SCORPION!! I yell...I mean yell, for Matt to come quick...by this point, LeLe is crying...I am still searching for my clothes and freaking out about the fact that I just pulled a LIVE scorpion out of my daughters mouth. Luckily, by this point, the scorpion has died....now, whether or not LeLe bit into him or not...we will never know. Luckily, I don't think that he stung her. I did go ahead and give her some zyrtec. Okay, just to make me feel better.

After all of the entertainment, we headed to Alex's birthday party around 11. We stopped and ate lunch at J. Alexander's. I had a prime rib sandwich...why am I telling you this?? Because it was FANTASTIC!! Anyway, we had to tote Barney into the restaurant. I am now stooping to new levels. Regardless, Barney and LeLe ate well and we were off to the McWane center. We got to the McWane center fairly early and got to tour the facility. MAN!! I am impressed that they have a place like this in Alabama. I had no idea! LeLe had a great time looking at the fish and was very excited to see Alex. Alex had a wonderful turn out for his birthday. Happy 7th Birthday Alex!!

18 Month Checkup

LeLe had her 18 month check up today with Dr. Richard Huie. As soon as Dr. Huie walked into the room, she said "Hey Dr.". She weighed 24.5 pounds and was 32 3/4 inches tall. She has grown 2 inches in 3 months and gained 3 pounds. She is in the 50th percentile for weight and the 75th percentile for height.

Dr. Huie explained to her that something in the room was "dirty" and she quickly told him to "wash it". He also asked her several questions in which she responded appropriately. He thinks that she will do fine in the 2 year old class when she starts next month at Bright Horizons.

As you can see from the pictures, it wasn't the best photo session at the doctor. I should have taken the pictures before her 3 shots instead of waiting until the last minute.

Play Date with Saxon

Dad woke me up around 10:00 to tell me that he and Saxon were coming over to play. When Saxon got here, we thought that it would be a great idea to let the girls play outside in the sprinkler. First though, we had to get their bathing suits on. While we were changing their clothes, LeLe took it upon herself to pat Saxon's back (for about 5 minutes). While she was patting her back, I ran to get the camera. Do you think that these girls look similar?? I do but Laura does not.

Anyway, these precious angels had a wonderful time playing in the sprinklers and placing the necklaces around each others neck. Dad ran to McDonald's and picked up lunch. The girls danced in their chairs while they ate chicken nuggets. They definitely enjoyed playing and loving on each other.

Water Play!

Matt and I took LeLe back to Alabama Adventure today. She had a wonderful time playing in the water. She even knows how to walk up the trail by herself to go down the big slide (okay, in the kiddie pool). I only got a couple of shots of her at the park because it took both of us to keep up with her.

When we got home, we stripped her down to her bathingsuit cover up and hooked up the sprinkler. For some reason, she kept giving the sprinkler a kiss. She enjoyed playing directly with the water hose as well. She quickly taught herself how to wash her hair and drink from the hose.

Happy Birthday Anne Reaves!!

Matt, LeLe and I woke up early to head to Anne Reaves' 4th Birthday party!! I cannot believe that this little angel is already 4!! I have so many memories of her and it just makes me so sad to think that in a year, she will be starting kindergarten. Okay, well, let's just say, I don't think that Laura planned on it being 101 outside. Let's just say...it's hot folks....really really hot. The party was scheduled to start at 9:00. We picked up Bobo and Pappy at 8:15...which is really early for me...and did I mention that I did a sit n sew the night before and I got home at 2 am? Anyway, we do things that we normally wouldn't do for our loved ones...so, I got up.

Anyway, we headed to Tuscaloosa, air conditioner wide open. We knew that the party was going to be at the park but we weren't prepared for NO SHADE!! Let's just say, the kids had a wonderful time but we were back to Laura's by 9:45. Laura joked that it was almost as hot as her October beach wedding.

Happy Birthday Anne Reaves! We love you so very much!

Random Shots

OKay...for my scrapbooking moment...

LeLe is getting to be such a big girl or "big gurl" as she calls it. We have now outgrown our high chair...or at least she thinks so. She talks up a storm and can pretty much count to 10. Okay, well, if you say one, she will say two, you say two, she'll say three...so you get the point. She is absolute IN LOVE with Barney or "Narney". She loves throwing the toys for her animals and continues to be a good sleeper. She has learned to dance (from Anne Reaves) and likes stomping her feet. She is obsessed with Band-Aids....okay, Dora bandaids. Still not a lot of white milk for her...she prefers strawberry, "chocate" or yogurt milk. Her favorite food is probably Blueberries along with "cooooookies". She will tell you when she is ready to take a nap or "lay down".

Happy Father's Day! Again!

Buddy, Pops, PawPaw and The Allen family came over for a early dinner in celebration of Father's day. We ended up grilling out hot dogs and hamburgers. After eating, we headed outside to play in the sprinklers. We ended up dragging out the bubble maker as well. Sara Kate, Jason and LeLe had a wonderful time playing together. LeLe had a wonderful time feeding Baby Samuel.

Happy Father's Day Pappy!

Matt, LeLe and I headed to Tuscaloosa to visit the Skinner family and celebrate Father's Day with Pappy. Luckily, the weather was warm...really warm. We picked up Full Moon BBQ on the way, sat by the pool and enjoyed the beautiful weather. Pappy even did some swimming with the girls. Anne Reaves jumped off of the diving board!! We truly enjoyed spending time with the family.

For dinner, Matt and I had one of his childhood friends come over for dinner. We had a great time catching up with Richard, Amy and Henson. LeLe enjoyed playing with "the baby", Henson.

"Chi-chen"

Matt and I have had a very crazy week. So, on my way home from work on Tuesday, I decided to stop by Publix and pick up fried chicken. Okay folks, I know that fried chicken probably isn't on Matt's "Low Cholesterol" list or on my weight watchers list but regardless, it was GOOD! LeLe thought so too!!

Happy Birthday Nana!

Today, Matt and I had to go to one of our dear friend's funeral. Everyone please keep the Will Burke family in your thoughts and prayers.

While we were at the funeral, Lauren took care of LeLe. Today was Lauren's grandmother's "Nana" birthday. LeLe was running out of the house when we mentioned that she would get cake. LeLe fell in love with my cousin, Joel, while at Nana's house. Obviously, she liked the icing...off of the counter too!

Happy BIRTHDAY NANA!!

Water Play

After last weekend, Matt and I ran to get LeLe her own little pool. I had bought a pool earlier in the week but Matt thought that this zebra pool was a lot more fun. So, now, the whale pool will have to go back. After staying indoors all day, we decided at 5:00 that we would let LeLe try out her pool. It was rather cool outside and the water was freezing...but she didn't mind.

After spending about 15 minutes into the pool, she was ready to move on. Matt brought out the sprinkler...which she had nothing to do with and then she noticed where we had left out the bubbles. Check out her legs!

Puppy Love

Tonight, LeLe went to her bed around 8:00 as normal. However, about 15 minutes later, I hear "Puppy Are You?". I tried to ignore the situation....but after about 5minutes and a very upset little girl, I walked into her room. She said "Puppy Are You"? I tried to give her the 3 foot puppy that she got from Santa....but she wouldn't take that one. Then, I pulled out the puppy that barks that we got at Build A Bear....nope, not that one either. So, in an effort to figure out what puppy she was asking for...I reigned in Sadie and Boomer into her room. Nope, not them either. As a last resort, I walked down to the basement and got her puppy that she had been pulling behind her all day long and brought it into her room. SUCCESS!!
She wanted this HARD, PLASTIC, broken legged puppy in her bedroom to sleep with her. So, I put it in the bed, watched her on the video monitor to make sure that she didn't choke on the 3 foot string and then snapped her picture! Of course, I stole back the little puppy.

Thanks Aunt Laura for letting LeLe borrow this puppy. Obviously, it is a hit!

Fun at the Zoo!

Yesterday, we all went to the Skinner's for a day at the pool. We had a FANTASTIC time swimming and playing with them.

Today, we had planned to go back to Tuscaloosa but due to the big pile of laundry, sunburned skin and a late sleeping child, we decided to stay here in Birmingham. Around lunch, we headed to the zoo. LeLe LOVED looking at the different animals and would talk to them by making the appropriate sounds...see the picture of the monkey face. After we heated up, we put LeLe's swim suit on and let her go wild in the water portion of the zoo. It took her a minute to warm up but then the "hurricane" kicked in. The water would turn off and on. When it turned off, LeLe would yell "where did it go" and do her hands like "I don't know".

Painting...more...

Since the painters are still working on the house, Aunt Lisa took LeLe for the day. When she got home, she got to play in the backyard. LeLe LOVES the outide...and her doggies.
